Tim Duncan healthy. He looked very ordinary last night vs the mavs. If he is not healthy then they are vulnerable which opens up the west a bit.

1. Pistons
2. Spurs
3. Mavs
4. Suns
5. Heat

It does appear the East is all but locked up....I still feel like Detroit gave the Spurs last years crown, more than the Spurs took it.

Detroit is unbelievable.

They have that cohesiveness that no other team has except for the Spurs. They obviously defend well, they hit the 3-ball, they have unlimited scoring options, they are balanced, and they have been playing together for a long time.

Detroit should have the East locked up. New Jersey beating them a couple of times was cute, and the little run they are on is cute, but they can not beat Detroit in a 7 game series with Detroit holding home court. Detroit will bring it to another level come playoff time, while New Jersey is giving it their all night in and night out.

New Jersey will also have to get by Miami. Shaq has owned the Nets throughout his career, and it was no different in last years playoffs. Once Miami gets healthy they will be tough to beat, that team is an entirely different team with J-Will running the point and Alonzo's intensity and defensive presence off the bench. But they dont have that consistent 3 point shooting like last years Eddie Jones and Damon Jones and that will kill them as it has all year vs. top teams.

I agree with that too
I wish it werent so, but realistically, those 4 teams would give the Heat fits in a 7-game series..and as ridiculous as it sounds, I think the Heat would fare better in a slowed down series against the pistons or spurs, rather than the styles the Suns and Mavs play..

MAVS are legit this season.

Home court is necessary for every series .

The only teams that can WIN the title are SA and Detroit - could the Mavs beat SA - realistically, no - even if they did they would have no chance of beating both SA and Detroit - could Miami beat Detroit, realistically, no - and they would have no chance of beating Detroit and then SA - it looks to be Detroit's year but when the playoffs start that's when Horry and Manu step up big.
