Got an email this morning stating that someone from a foreign country was trying to access my paypal account. They asked me to change passwords immediately. I don!t even use paypal that much, prefering other means. Does that sound a litlle suspicious or am i just being overly cautious?

I would proceed with extreme caution and try to contact Paypal security (if they have any). I recieved a similar email about Paypal a year or so ago but never used Paypal so didn't any passwords to change. Don't click on any links.

that's the important part, not clicking links. scammers often create duplicates of webpages such as AOL or Paypal to have you type your information which allows them to steal your identity

I get those all the time. I had one on my ebay account that was legit but most of them are spoofs.

What I would do is log into paypal account(DONT USE THE LINK IN YOU EMAIL) if there is a problem with your account they will let you know when you log in.

When it happened in my ebay account, I went to ebay and they also told me someone tried to access my account. Hope this helps.

Paypal seems to get targeted by a lot of these scams.

Pay Pal Request.

Sound like i am up Sh-- Cr---. I clicked on a link that looked to be an official pay pal link. They asked me for last four numbers of d/l and Mother!s maiden name. I also emailed paypal for assistance. I guess this is one reason i don!t like electronic ways of sending monies.

Change your paypal password ASAP & let them know of the situation. They may just lock your account for the time being (not a bad idea).
