if he somehow went 0 for April and into May with no homers, it would only make his steroid situation that much worse... "Barry can't play off of steroids'

Time will tell...he's pretty much in a no win situation, unless he has a great yr.

I have Barry under 34.5 home runs ...... so great news as far as I'm concerned. My main reason for taking this wager ? I expect Barry to
1. get plenty of walks.
2. Sit out plenty of games
3. Very real possibility of injury
4. Possibility of suspension
5. Personal pressure of constant heckling by fans might take it's toll.
It's still early so I'm not spending the Money on my under bet just yet but I like my chances !

:thumbsup2: :money: :toast:

He has played in 4 games this season and people are already looking at his numbers?

His first series was in San Diego...one of the worst hitter parks in baseball.

Only 3% of the season has been played...

Was there a minimum game requirement on your bet Kermit? I know there was at Pinny.. that may be your main worry

Moises Alou is 7-for-17 with 2 HRs and 6 RBIs though...why do you think he is getting so many pitches to hit? Because Barry Bonds is waiting in the on deck circle...

Plus Barry had only 42 at bats last season. He needs some time to get back in the swing. Any guy would struggle in his place.

Yep. Barry looks out of sync at the plate so far. The Giants as a whole weren't hitting but have begun to pick it up the last two games. The starting pitching has been pretty good so far with Schmidt going today.

My dream game box score for Bonds

5 at bats

0 for 0 with 5 HBP.

Twice in his elbow.
Twice in the back.
Once on the hip.

I never want to see anyone get hit in the head but may the entire rest of his overgrown roid-filled, chemically enhanced, evil body get drilled for the rest of his short-lived career.

I f'n hate Barry Bonds.

These are his first regular season swings in a long time. He'll find it. He wont hit 70, but he'll still be a force.

Having watched all 6 games the Giants have played too date, a glaring observation regarding Barry Bonds has become apparent to me. Both at the plate and in the field, he is having difficulty moving the lower half of his body. His legs, particularly his knees, appear extremely weak both when he swings and when he trys to run and stop. Unless his legs get stronger somehow, which is doubtful, I don't believe he is going to be able to do a great deal either in numbers at the plate or fielding his position. Believe the opposing managers are currently giving him too much respect by walking him and getting to Alou. I would not be surprised if Barry's season is shortened. The pain on his face already shows and the season has just begun. Thought I'd share this with the forum for those considering wagering on or against the Giants. Right now, Barry is a liability in my opinion.

Totally agree, Ted. Watching the Braves game today and seeing how painful it was for Barry catching those routine fly balls, I would have to say his career will be on the decline.

I was thinking his slow start could be juice related but wasn't he crushing the ball in preseason?

He hit 4 homers, 9 rbi in 23 ab. Batted .478.

I hope the jerk doesn't come around in the regular season, but I wouldn't be surprised.
