I continue to get the little box which pops up each time when I log-in. It asks me do I want to allow the security certicate, because it's from a site I "have chosen not to trust." Each time I check Yes and have tried everything that I can think of to make this go away. I set security to "low", and gone through all the procedures to make it stop asking me, but it asks for each and every log-on. I'd say this has been going on for several months now.
Anyone else get this? The site works ok once I click "YES" but I don't get this warning on any other pages at all.

It is your firewall settings not your windows setings. Dont lower the security on your browser change the settings on your firewall.

Its not the firewall

Simply put, for some reason the browser (IE doesnt give me the error but firefox does) does not believe the SSL Cert is real

Examining the certificate it says its for *.pinnaclesports.com , I am not sure if you can use a wildcard (that is * ) in SSL certs

is your clock set for the correct date/year?

what version of IE do you use whoson1st?

nm that, IE also gives me the error if I load https://pinnaclesports.com

I'm still running Windows98se. My clock is correct; time date and year. Am using Internet Explorer; not Firefox. At least I'm not the only one getting this. Think--what I'll do is delete the website entirely and try going to it again. No other website is getting this.
Thanks to all.

Well that didn't stop it.
It could be something with IE. I think that I have IE 5. But also may be running a version 6 if that's possible.
Guess, I'll leave it alone for fear of a total crash. But what I don't understand is WHY only at Pinnacle's website; if a problem with my computer.

I dont believe its a problem with your computer, I got the same problem here in two separate browsers, I do believe its more of a problem with the SSL certificate of Pinnacle, have you asked their support team?

for some reason their SSL cert is issued to *.pinnaclesports.com instead of the usual www.pinnaclesports.com

if you forward that to their tech department perhaps they could figure out whats going on

I suppose you have tried the standard solution in these cases which is

when you get the warning click on "view certificate" and then in the screen that comes up next click on "install certificate"

You could try adding Pinny to your trusted Sites.

Tools\Internet Options\Security Click Trusted Sites then add *.Pinnacle.com to your trusted sites list.

Yes, I tried that "install certificate several times...nothing changed at all.
Reason I haven't sent an email to Pinnacle, was that I figured it was either something wrong on my end or If it was their problem, they would fix it. But it has been a long TIME now and continues.
Surprised no-one here has said anything to them; if on their end.

For those here that would like to know: I sent Pinny an email asking about this. They responded that they have updated their Security Certificate (Starfield) and that they are aware that some older operating systems and browsers will not recgonize it. They suggested updating.

So I'm guessing that those with newer computer are not having any problem.

Not sure if this will eventually cause other problems if I don't update or not.

Wolfie--Anytime my computer asks me about "SECURITY", I'm a little concerned.
True--I'm a computer dummy, but this doesn't seem to be something to mess around with.

it has been happening to me for a long time too. the very first day i reported it.of course they said it was my fault and that i needed to install the latest version of firefox.i just cried bullshit and have been putting up with it ever since. i have xp media center and refuse to use anyhting other than firefox so i guess i will just have to live with it. you would think they would want to get to the bottom of this problem but evidently not

I'm confused big time here. They "updated their security certificate". Ok exactly what does that mean???? Sounds like a good thing to do if you ask me. So if it is why don't other books like WSEX, Carib etc do the same thing, if it's a good thing to do?
Something doesn't make sense to me....UNLESS...the technology that Pinnacle is using is SO MODERN that others haven't heard of it yet. It simply makes NO sense. :icon_conf

i have no idea. i freaked the f' out the first time it happened to me because i had a lot of money in there.then they came with that "you need to download the latest version of your browser crap" and i just said whatever and just kept on checking the "allow for this session only button" communicating with them via e-mail is very aggravating and i just did not want to do it.and to tell them that i do have the latest version was like talking to a wall. how do you explain to someone you DO HAVE THE LATEST VERSION????

Agreed...But Dante says he doesn't get that message. They said to update the operating system and browser. At least they are aware of it. I may leave them if this is not resolved in some way.
What operating system are you using?

Dante--what system are you using and what browser?
