I have a collection of over 300 autographs from every sport. My most prized is a shirt and picture framed and autographed by Jack Nicklaus. It even has his business card framed in it.

I also have a Caddy Shack 8 x 10 movie poster autographed by all the top actors and the director.

The one I wonder about is my autographed Barry Bonds baseball. It's COA is from Steiner Sports. I wonder if its is increasing in value?

Anyone else collect autographs?

YUP - have some nice ones, too

Gretzky/Roy on the 1st hockey Beckett's (I have about 4-5 Gretzky signed stuff)
Jack Nicklaus on the SI after he won Master's #5
TWO copies of the very first L.A. edition of the "National" sports daily signed by Magic (with pix to prove he signed it so if/when i sell it authenticity is no problem)
Signed baseballs from: Kevin Costner (at a Fullerton game), Eckersley, Frank Robinson, Vin Scully, Tommy Lasorda and a few others
Signed GAME USED bats from: Mark Kotsay, Phil Nevin, Tim Wallach and Brent Mayne with a few more I hope to pick up this year or next (and if you know what all these guys have in common it should be easy to see why i have them - and how i got them)
About 4-5 Playboys signed by THE MAN himself
A Broncos team pennant signed by people such as Elway, Sharpe, Pat Bowlen, Reeves, Shanahan, Tom Jackson and even Bill Walsh (he was at the hotel when i got the broncos so i figured "why not" and got him)
A few Mario Lemieux pucks (TERRIBLE signature - but......)

BUT - my most prized possession is the Opening Ceremony uniform i bought at the 1992 Winter Games in Albertville France from a Russian team member for $100 - and a few years back i was told it was worth between $1,500 to $2,000 because this was the VERY LAST TIME Russia wore "CCCP" clothing - and i knew this - and knew how valuable it was. when i bought the stuff from there was a stack of clothing 3-feet high at least of clothing i could have bought - all for about the same price range - all of it would easily be worth 10 times what i paid for it - if not more

I collect sports card and memorabilia still. The Bonds is not increasing in value and it is a mystery whether or not it will the closer he gets to 755. It is good that u got a COA from a reputable company as well, because autographs without a COA sell for only about 20% of their worth on the secondary market due to the prevalence of fakes out there.

I always get the COA for reputable companies.

I am now getting into historical autographs as well. Dead presidents, Albert Einstein, Mob bosses, etc.

You never know when one of these are going to become the "great prize possession".

Maybe its my Pete Rose autographed baseball. :missingte

I don't collect them, but I did get 4 pretty good players on one ball at the 1979 World Series

All on the same ball from game 6, 1979 WS

Willie Stargell, Dave Parker, Frank Robinson and Brooks Robinson (Frank was a coach and Brooks, I happened to see in the stands before the game.)

Topps actually just came out with a presidential autographs set of every US president. Real interesting idea. Also, there's a University of Michigan football set that was released a year or two ago that had a Gerald Ford autograph.

I did not know that. What a great collection to have. Anything from Topps or Upper Deck will certainly increase in value.

I started a thread very similar to this one sometime last year. I would not say that I "collect" them anymore, but I do have a nice amount of memorabilia. Here are some of my personal favorites:

1) Jackie Robinson signed baseball
2) A signed 16x20 picture of both Magic and Michael Jordan from the NBA Finals
3) A Jerry West signed Sports Illustrated when he was on the cover ( too lazy to go check what year it is from)
4) Micky Mantle signed 8x10 picture
5) Michael Jordan and Tim Hardaway(favorite Heat player of all time) signed 8x10 picture
6) Tim Hardaway, Alonzo Mourning, and Pat Riley signed basketball
7) Muhammed Ali signed 16x20 picture of him standing over Sunny Liston
8) Game worn signed Dan Marino jersey

Those are some of my favorites, however I also have signed photos of Larry Bird, Charles Barkley, Hakeem Olajuwon, and Dennis Rodman.

Also have signed baseballs from Micky Mantle, Pete Rose, Don Mattingly, Cal Ripken, plus a bunch of others.

While I am talking about my favorite items, I may as well talk about my worst memorabilia. Here goes:

1) 16x20 signed photograph of crackhead Shawn Kemp
2) Matt Geiger signed basketball
3) Penny Hardaway signed basketball
4) Game worn Veshan Lenard signed jersey
5) Signed Jalen Rose jersey

That is enough for now.....have a lot of other stuff as well. :103631605

I love # 7 & #8. Game worn jerseys are great investments. Great collection you have there Spread. Seems like none of us have the same things or autographs by the same sports celebs.

The only autographs worth a shit are the ones you get personally.

If you don't believe this, I will gladly offer an excluse RX poster special by relenquishing my personal signature for the incredably low price of $9.99, provided you send me a self-addressed stamped envelope with your address on it.
