Let's say you wanted to ride your horse to work in the big city, could you do this? If not , why not? And where , legally could you put your horse while you are away? And wouldn't this be good for the planet? And what about being drunk riding?

I've heard that in Great Falls, Montana every now and then someone will ride a horse into town, tie it to a parking meter and go shopping, etc. It's against the law but the cops let it go as long as you put coins in the meter and clean up the horse shit.

LOL--Santa Claus is allowed to park his reindeer free anywhere on 12/24 and 12/ 25 except in New York City...They charge high fees there to just breathe.

Pass me a drink--Capn!!

there are plenty of towns in amish country (Pa) that welcome and provide tie up posts for your horses.

This is crazy. I was just thinking of this the other day. Not the exact same thing, but I wondered how many serious injurys/ deaths there were from drunk horse riding in the 1700's and so forth. Surely it is the kind of thing you won't hear about in Jr. High history class.

Two reasons you couldn't ride a horse into town in a large city. First of all, city ordinances would prohibit the boarding of a horse within the city. Second, you would be cited for impeding traffic.

As for drinking and riding. If you can get a DUI for riding a bike I imagine you could get one riding a horse.
