Anyone have any useful capping observations regarding the first week of the season? One thing that I was very surprised about was the run scoring averages. Here are the results after Week 1:

AL: 5.02 RPG
NL: 5.47 RPG

These are much higher than last year's averages, and may indicate an important trend. I know it's only a week, but we may see more Overs this season than usual. Do you think the WBC had something to do with us, or is hitting getting better, or something else?

Anyone else have any good observations that could help out future capping this season? Any thoughts will be appreciated.

well, i think your right when you say it's too early to tell...

a lot of people think that they should be lower this year because the hitters arent using steroids anymore (allegedly), but i think there were just as many pitchers doing that crap. so we will see.

also, it is usually higher scoring at the beginning of the year because pitchers take a few starts to get into their top form.

-Don't bet against the Yankees unless you are getting at least +130 (See: Bartolo Colon and Barry Zito).
-Atlanta games will go OVER

The margins of victory are getting bigger.
I have never been a fan of laying the 1.5 runline but I am seeing more and more cases this season to give runlines a whole lot more action than years past. Alot less 4-3 games this season. We are seeing alot of blowouts.
