Is it better to buy a '64 or '65 restored inside, under the hood and outside and pay 12k or buy one that needs some body work, engine work and the inside fixed up and pay about $1500? Will restoring a 'tang cost around 10 grand? Thanks.

Im far from an expert here but just on the way the question is written i'd go with the one already restored, If the one you buy needs body work, etc, you probably will easily be close to 10 grand, and thats if the work is minor cosmetics. A good paint job alone will cost near $3000, so your at 40% of the cost of the one alread done with nothing else. when you start pulling apart things to fix them up there is always something unexpected

I would restore it myself. I usually do one car per yr and take my time with it.

Then sell it during tax season when ppl spend extra $$ on cars. My friends and I enjoy working on them though.
