It'll be interesting to see how he does at a big-time program. He certainly has the pedigree and it was only a matter of time before he landed a job at an elite program. He's definitely a players coach and should do a good job there and be able to land solid recruits. He was able to find productive players in JUCO(something that was essential to his success) and recruited well for a program of VCU's stature. He'll do a good job at Oklahoma.
As a VCU fan I'm sad to see him go, but it was only a matter of time. He turned down the Auburn job last year and his patience has obviously paid off. He did a solid job here. I wouldn't be surprised if the program took a few steps back now, unfortunately.
