If you were Frank Robinson facing the Mets today, would you hit the first batter , Reyes,(he didn't hit anybody in the top of the 1st BTW), wait for Beltran or possibly even wait and throw at Bannister?

As for me , I would have thrown at the first batter and got it over with.

I would only have him throw at somebody if I wanted an early shower.

I would have 3 arms ready and drill the 1st 3 batters.
:103631605 That's a great idea - I wish I had thought of it. They could even use back-up players to plunk them!:103631605

you never intentionally hit the first batter of any inning, period. see the stats about % of men reaching base to lead off an inning eventually scoring.
Frank's gotta retailiate, but you don't hit the leadoff guy of any inning, period.
Specially not the leadoff batter of the game in your home opener.

I'd hit Bannister...let that rookie stew on getting drilled and see if it gets in his head when he's on the mound.

Sometimes you have to make a 'statement'! As bad as the Nats are playing, they need somebody to step up and win a game. And that could have included drilling Reyes and saying "F##k YOU METS!" But I hear you D, under normal circumstances you would not ever hit the leadoff guy.

BTW, the sharpshooter VP is at this game!:icon_conf

P.S. I forgot to tell you - the VP is a Dick! LOL!

yeah i agree about making a statement, i just think hitting someone regardless will do that, not the leadoff guy.
Maybe you say fuck it and drill Delgado AND Bannister, just to let the Mets know that not only will u retaliate, but also that you simply do not give a fuck and are crazy in the brain. haha
I really think drilling Bannister would get into his head though...

Skinsraj28 and juice are at the game too...assholes

Someone needed to drill Bannister...Nats kept getting ahead in the count and then doing him favors by being overly-aggressive. Pathetic.

As for tomorrow...somebody needs to drill Pedro, bottom line. Or Guillen needs to charge the mound with his bat.

One thing about the Nationals - they are one+ years removed from being the Expos. This will not end pretty for them this year. Did they ever get a real owner yet?

STILL waiting for MLB to decide on an owner, all the bids are in, but baseball seems totally incapable of focusing on more than one issue at a time. I fear that while this steroids investigation is ongoing, baseball will continue to push back the announcement of a new owner.

I don't know hw Pedro doesn't get thrown at every time to the plate.

When I posted it I was thinking to myself that this guy, who is maybe 5'9" or 5'10", 175 soaking wet, has never been taken down by anyone I can think of, yet he has beaned countless players, some in the head.

Pitchers are REALLY lucky they aren't hockey players.
