Just wanted to congratulate all REDS, ROCKIES and METS fans for winning there division. 1 week is all you need to determine how the rest of the year is going to go.

The Mets really had an outstanding year this season finishing 134-28(the best record in the history of baseball. How do I know that? Its very simple. We have played a whole week of the baseball season and they are 5-1. If you project that out over 162 games thats 134-28.

I would also like to congratulate Ramon Hernandez for winning the batting title at an outstanding .632 clip. Ted Williams never had anything on this guy. I know its only 1 week but if hes hitting .632 now, there is no reason to believe he wont countinue that the rest of the season.

Congrats to Edger Renteria for his 162 game hitting streak. He has a hit in every game this year. Surely that means he will countinue to get at least one hit every game the rest of the season. Joe D only wishes he had the consistancy of Edger.

Its amazing how much we learn in just on week of baseball

Kudos to Cris Shelton for hitting 148 homers this season. And to think that we all thought that the homers would stop after MLB instituted the new steriod policy.

And last but not least, I want to give a big thumbs up to Oscar Villarreal for being the first 70 game winner in the history of baseball and hes a relief pitcher for the BRAVES no less and he had no strikeouts the whole season.

He dominated the league at such a pace this season that when they gave him the CY Young award they had to change the name to the Oscar Villarreal award. If he has just 7 more seasons like that he will become the alltime wins leader in the history of baseball.

Im pulling for you Oscar. Keep up the good work.

Chop, ignore the bashers and keep grinding...anyone who isn't a complete retard knows that the season isn't determined by the first week and change. Most everybody knows that your first week isn't indicative of how good a capper you are, so there's no need to take a shot at your bashers with threads like this. You're just giving them another opportunity to flame. You're above this; like you said, in a month you'll be able to talk all the shit you want when you're raking in the dough. But for now, there's no need to take an indirect jab at them with threads like this. You don't need to stoop to their level.

I know this thread was meant to be humorous, but lets not kid ourselves: it is absolutely an indirect swing at the bashers...and a swing you don't need to take. You're classier than they are and you know it.

And before anyone says, "have a sense of humor, geez," remember who's saying this. Anyone who has paid attention to any of my posts on this site know about my sense of humor. But given the situation, even I couldn't find any humor in this...not given the circumstances.

I have entirely too much time on my hands. GL tomorrow big dog.

I feel the same way. I thought this was funny, but it seems like
you are letting the bashers get to you. Chop don't trip on these
fools that are being negative.

Go with what you know!!

Yea really.. Why all this retaliation towards "the punk" ? You're in a rut, the kid is too young to understand cold streaks and how baseball works, you understand it. I know you guys want to defend Chop, but he's a big boy, he's been here before, I'm sure he can handle it without a posse scrambling to his defense anytime some newbie handicapper spouts off.

Just let it slide and keep doing your thing you've done for 8 seasons. Geez.

I did it for 2 reasons.
1)to have a little fun.
2)to try to teach people a little bit about the long grind of the baseball season.

I really try to do my best to teach people. It does not do any good to have a great season if you are going to use poor money management.
I sense alot of bad money management at this forum and some people got burned from my early bad start and they are not going to have the bankroll later in the season to get it all back.

I'm with you all the way buddy!!!
remember one thing, you can not or lets say that it's harder to think when you are mad or got something bothering you, It's time to regroup and to take your time to do things, like some people use to say count to ten, breath in and out!!!
Take it slow one step at a time!!!

:thumbsup2:

this whole ego thing is getting pretty damn old. i actually thought maybe would there be some baseball insight in the thread and wasted my time reading it. i want the last 2 minutes of my life back.

this forum is meant to share information about sports, not to try to make each other (or yourself) feel good or bad. maybe this is a rubber room thread? it sure as hell aint baseball

LOL- don't forget Bronson Arroyo who will hit 35 homers in his 35 starts.

Yes, hes going to be the first 30/30 pitcher in baseball history. 30 wins and 30 homers.
