The search function only allows me to see this last year.

How many years have you posted here at therx? Would you be able to share your record?

Would appreciate that.

Oh my god- I'm talking to Choptalk! Wow, that was quick!

So were you posting anywhere your other 6 years at all? Apologize for digging for your record and understand this is an annoyance and you're under no obligation to give me anything at all. Just a touch about me- I post on other forums and do a lot of work digging up old records and compiling totals and you've created such a buzz over here that I want to start betting on your picks. But need a little more info if you can oblige.

By the way, a week of losing and the things are starting to get dicey? If I had good records on you for your profitability I'd still wager on you after a year of getting your ass kicked.

I have spreadsheets in my old computer in the basement with all my records for about the past 5 years. If I get the chance, I will post them in the near future if this is something everyone really wants to see.

Good luck.

Joe, I am sure that his record is as he says. Alot of people around here make alot of money on baseball! That is why most books limit action on baseball. I have made the most money in baseball for last 5 seasons and have been betting baseball for over 20 years. I just choose not to post plays too often. I actually am betting the games. But the reason for my post is to say that almost everyone posting their plays here will win for the season.

Dont think that it is unusual for someone to be up +20 units or more over a whole season. baseball is where the money is!! This year has been great so far for most, so follow along with everyone's picks and kick the mans ass!!

Uh oh, I hope to just nip this in the bud. Choptalk says he has 5 years of records. Now I'm scared the legions of fans will construe a vote for these records as no-confidence vote in Choptalk. I don't think that's the case.

Why would you not want these records, playersonly? 5 years of records, even if you know for a fact he's won is very valuable. They would be a great learning tool- see how detailed they are, what types of lines did Chop play against, are there any bets hes particularly strong/weak with, was it steady growth or concentrated in a year. Records are great tools- bet better with more information.

Actually the records dont matter at all to me either way. I handicap my own games. I dont even check his or other people's picks.

If you take the time to handicap your own games, then you will win as well. Just study the starting pitcher and check the rest of the bullpen for both teams

I know JoeFlex from several other forums and he is a very diligent seeker of handicapper records. Essentially is he is trying to assess the records of as many "prominent" web-based handicappers and professionals as is realistic. He is attempting to assess the statistical significance of several to many years worth of successful handicapping. I'm not sure such study is really worth the effort, but it can be interesting to see how different handicappers ebb and flow over the years.

Anyway, if you have the time, I (for one) would be interested in seeing such stats as w/l record, units wagered, units won, etc. for each individual year.

If you would put that much time and energy into studying one person's record the last few years Joeflex, you'd make a hell of a handicapper and I don't see why it would concern you that much.

Chop-

It shouldn't be a problem transferring a spreadsheet from a Windows 95 system to your current computer as almost averything from MS (at least in Office) is backwards compatible. I would be willing to help you if needed.

As far as JoeFlex is concerned from what I have seen of him on other boards he is probably the most levelheaded, fair and unbiased person out there when it comes to auditing a persons record. He is not trying to bash you, with him it is simply a question of due diligence. He simply is not comfortable following somone with less than 2500 documented picks (even then he would prefer more). Since you have 8 winning seasons under your belt you are one of very few handicappers out there that may satisfy that requirement.

For what its worth I would also love to see your past records.

I promise I will make an effort to get it as soon as I can. The only problem I have with getting that data is the computer that its on is an old computer that I have not used in about 3 years. After my last post, I just just remembered that that computer only has an A: drive and the computer I have now only has a CD drive. Another problem I have is the old computer does not have an ethernet card. I had dial-up internet back then and cant connect it to my cable modem. I am not a computer wiz by any means. If anyone can figure a way around those problems I would be more than happy to post any records I have.

My a drive on the old computer is the only drive that can save data and move it to another computer.

Any suggestions without having to buy hardware?

One more question?

How much info do you need to make a worthwhile study?

In the early days I did not do any line shoping at all. I was a 1 sportsbook capper that had to bet next day lines. I have become a whole lot more sophisticated over the last 3 or 4 years than I was in the old days. My style the last few years is alot different than back then. I was pretty much at the mercy of my sportsbook.

Copy the spreadsheet file from Windows 95 to a floppy (a: drive). Then take the floppy and put it in your a: drive on your new computer. Copy the file to the hard drive on your new computer. Double-click on the file. It should open in the new version on your new computer.

Highlight the spreadsheet data you wish to post here. Then click on the Edit menu and select copy. Click on Post Reply in this thread and click on the Edit menu and select Paste. It will paste the spreadsheet info in a table here.

As I said my new computer does not have an A: drive only a CD and a DVD drive. I dont think any computer less than 2 years old has an A: drive anymore unless you custom order an A: drive.

You can Copy the spreadsheet file from Windows 95 to a floppy (a: drive) and then try to find someone who have floppy drive in comp!
I guess that every computer shop can rerecorded from floppy to CD for you!

All the best!
