Some Preliminary Choptalk

Choptalk, you seem to have great value on your plays relative to the closing line. I did a brief look throughout the season so far. While you are losing a bit so far I think its way more important that you're really in front of these line moves.

Let's take today's card:

Washington -104. Pinny closed -108.
Giants -139. Pinny closed -144.
LA -101. Pinny closed -106.
AZ -122. Currently at -119. This looks like only play where lost
a few cents.
CWS -105. Pinny closed -113.
Balt -124. Pinny closed -143 (wow- what happened there).
KC +356. Not sure how Pinny splits at -355 but good value too.

So just today you've beat the closing line by 4, 5, 5, -3, 8, 19, (20ish on KC)?

A Few questions:

1) Where are your plays from generally? Are they available at more than one out or have you line shopped them?

2) For the guys who follow Chop, do you find these and how fast do they move (I'm used to guys releasing and the line moves in 30 seconds)

3) ** What would you guys say is the value of beating the closing Pinny line consistently in baseball? Do you think this is a very good indicator of success?

I won't pretend to answer for Chop but IIRC he said in a thread a while back he plays at 5Dimes, Matchbook and Hollywood(?) not sure about that last one. And CHOP is not a particularly widespread capper, he's not a DOC or Wayne Root type figure that's selling picks to 10,000+ people so I don't really think lines are moving based on his calls, it's just that most of the time he's picking night lines in which he sees value, and as others pick the same lines they tend to move in the right direction for CHOP.

Yes I play at Pinnacle, 5dimes and Matchbook. When I bet a game through matchbook even though I play the game there, I am forced to post a line from pinnacle or 5dimes because I am getting tracked in the tracker forum and im not allowed to post lines from an exchange such as Matchbook. So with that being the case I acually get even a better number than I post about 15-20% of the time.

It looks like you have some good research going right now. Very interesting.
