Philadelphia –1.05 over COLORADO (Pinnacle)
The Phillies got right-sided in Atlanta and will now take their hot bats to Colorado where the Rockies, in a reverse of form, have not played so well. The Rockies struggled at the plate in their three home games and will face an up ‘n comer in Ryan Madsen. We like this guy, he’s not really been given the opportunity to start regularly but his chance has finally come and he made the most of it in his season debut, allowing just one run and five hits in six innings against the Dodgers. Madsen has pitched 172 major league innings and he just keeps getting better. Zach Day will go for the Rockies and this hurler will never be anything but a fourth or fifth starter. Day is prone to giving up the long ball and pitched brutally awful last season at Coors after being traded from Washington to Colorado. Huge edge on the mound for the visitors and that works for us. Play: Philadelphia –1.05 (Risking 1.5 units). <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Toronto +1.45 over CHICAGO (Pinnacle)
Javier Vasquez had a decent start in his debut as a White Sox, however, that came against the Royals and we’re going to have to see much more than that to be convinced of anything. What’s more notable is Vasquez’s last two seasons, one with the Yanks and one with the D-Backs, in which both teams couldn’t wait to unload him. Vasquez’s ERA over the past two years has been close to 5.00 and the Blue Jays line-up is as tough as any in the business. Scott Downs pitching line in his season opener was not as bad as it looks. He gave up three runs in five innings but was very effective in the first four innings and it’s not like the Devil Rays were hitting him hard because they weren’t. Downs has great control, he’s a decent lefty and the Jays are coming off back-to-back wins in Boston. Price here is as sweet as any on the board today. Play: Toronto +1.45 (Risking 1.5 units).

LOS ANGELES –1 +1.04 over San Francisco (Pinnacle)
Jamie Wright of the Giants has been released, not re-signed or traded by five clubs in 10 years and that includes Kansas City and Colorado twice. The man is making a half million a year and in this day and age that’s the major league equivalent of flipping burgers. In addition, the Giants are coming off a DH yesterday against the Astros and all in all, it was a long, long day. Now they’ll face Brad Penny and his early dominance. Penny has won both his starts and has been the major’s best pitcher thus far. He comes in with a 1.50 ERA pitching in masterful fashion against the Braves and Phillies. Expect a huge crowd in anticipation of you know who and expect the Dodgers to light up Wright; everyone else has and the Dodgers are swinging the bats extremely well. Play: Los Angeles –1 +1.04 (Risking 1.5 units).
