Padilla has alot of trouble with left-handed hitting and the
Athletics are in no short supply of those (very good ones
at that). Not to mention their switch hitters that all seem
to hit better from the left side, also. Hitters like Kotsay, a very
patient hitter that will take Padilla deep into the count waiting
for one of his soft looping curve balls that he has a tendance to
hang often; Switch hitter Bradley, who has above average power
against pitchers on the left side, and pitches that are down and
away (a pitch that Padilla uses alot, especially when in jams or
behind in the count); and other lefties in Chavez, Johnson, and
Swisher, who is also a very exceptional hitter from the left side
with pitches down in the zone.
Don't like laying the runs, but with all these hitting match-ups
that favor the Athletics to go along with their stud starter
Harden and a very good bullpen, it seems very likely to me that
the Athletics win this contest by no less than 2 runs.
Harden doesn't seem to be fazed much going against lefties himself,
so don't look for him to have too much trouble with Teixeira (who
hits the majority of his homers from the left side and in the ball
carrying air of Texas, or leadoff Wilkerson, Blaylock, Matthews, or
Dellucci. Also the Rangers could be without LF Mench (toe) who is ?
for this contest, after recieving a cortisone shot yesterday.
See the Athletics getting to Padilla early, getting out to a comfortable
lead and Harden holding down the Rangers hitters long enough to
get to the Rangers middle relief, both righthanded pitchers in Wasdin
and Benoit, allowing the A's lefthanded lineup to possibly extend
the lead further. The Rangers left-handed specialist Shouse whose
sidearm delivery baffles lefties because his pitches look as if they
are coming from behind them will probably be rendered ineffective
due to Bradley and Swisher are switch-hitters and the Rangers also
have good righthanded hitting with Kendall, Payton, Crosby, and
Ellis staggered throughout their hitting lineup for that such
reason.
A's win by two or more, hopefully! These are my reasons
and am sticking to them for better of worse!
Good wagering, everyone from,

Be patient.....the A's will crack Padilla eventually. Let's see what he does during the 2nd and 3rd time around the lineup. I see the A's pulling this one out 3-2. GO ATHLETICS!!!

run lines can be profitable but if i were to take a runline, id only do so with the road team....ive been on the short end of 9th inning or Extra inning victories before.. :p

Harden has gotten hit hard several times but the d has saved the day so far...

Swisher with a leaping catch at the warning track to save extra bases..
