When Sylvia got knocked down he got right break up and threw punches when Arvolski got hit he stayed down in a dangerous position and didn't move. If he may off moved once then the ref wasn't going to call it but in that spot Sylvia was going to hurt him even more. It wasn't rigged Arvolski was UFC's golden boy and Sylvia was never that well liked and UFC at this point has no problem selling tickets and PPV's to anything.

You have good points. It just seemed to me that they would let them fight. After seeing the replay I still back my opnion. Andre my have been buzzed but that was nothing that he could not recover from. I thought Big tim got rocked and was very surprised he got up. What upset me was if you look at the first round of Titio and forest. that was a round that had the potential to be stopped not a HEAYWEIGHT FIGHT. Ya the UFC has no trouble selling tickets, and they are growing like crazy, but will a rubber match/payoff bring big bucks? You bet your sweet ass it will. The heavyweights have nobody, now they have a rubber match UFC 64 title card

I wasnt happy with the fight either but I can see it being stopped. Andre was almost completely unresponsive except for having his hand in front of his face. His legs looked dead and he wasnt moving, you cant stay like that in UFC. I was pissed but it was Andres fault, and I am a huge fan of his.

....was it another case of the UFC delivering another non-fight? Didn't sound like much of a fight.

How Pride must be wondering how to get an angle in the US market.

I'll get to see full but delayed coverage of UFC 59 on Sunday night here in the UK.

This sport was just approved by the CA Athletic Commission - if a fighter is not defending himself and is taking shots it has to be stopped - if one fighter suffers some type of brain damage or if someone dies in MMA fighting is over with in the U.S. on the spot - AA did not have his hands up and was unresponsive - Slyvia was going to keep striking and it would have gotten worse.

After seeing it just on UK TV, I don't know what to make of that.

I think Herb Dean stopped the fight a few seconds too early and didn't give Andrei the chance to get back up, being content that Tim had trapped Andrei underneath him and that there was no way Andrei was able to defend himself.

Tim Sylvia got seven clean shots to Arlovski's head when both were on the ground and Andrei did well just to be able to put a hand by the side of his head there for Sylvia to hit.

Freak result in my opinion....seems the UFC is unlucky not to have more fights that last longer.

Two minutes of the Arlovski-Sylvia II fight was spent just sizing each other up! :lolBIG:
