Hey Journeyman, how about a King of the Hill contest for this baseball season? We could make it a post up contest where we could use the funds. Lets say $100 or so. We could get at least 60 people in that sort of contest. Hell they get to use the money anyway to bet with.

Chime in if you would be willing to play in a king of the hill contest so the owners can see the support. This type would be easier for an advertiser to donate money since we would be posting up some funds with their book. Post a reply if you would play and maybe we can get 50 or so entries

I'd be willing to play(I've brought this up numerous times without a mod response), but why have a post-up? You're going to get far more interest it it were free(which it has been in the past), and the KOH contests have become a staple of the RX. They're having one across the street, and it'd be a damned shame if the RX didn't have one as well just because Bucs decided to leave.

But yeah, I know you're in support of having a postup, but I completely disagree with that. The Boys of Summer contest was a pay contest, KOH should be free for all posters like it has always been...at least since I've been here.

Well I believe that we can do one with a post up. I am not talking about an entry fee, just a post up contest where we at least show the books around here $100 cash. I would rather do it that way to eliminate the ghosts or the POSSIBILITY of a ghost winner! Most people shouldnt have a problem with $100 post up since they are going to gamble anyway.

That brings up another topic. If you hang around here 10 hours a day and DONT GAMBLE, then you really need some serious medical help! I know that is not you SKINS, but other people need to look at what they are doing here if in fact they DO NOT gamble or support the sponsors.

As Bucs said a month or two ago, RX Management has already okayed a $3k prize payout for a free contest. Thus no need for any kind of post up contest, just need a mod to take over posting lines and JOH or somebody to update standings.

To keep the ghosts out, you make a post minimum to enter the thing. 100 posts min. No need for a post-up, just a post-min.

To bad. One of the problems with post up is that some states such as Maryland do not allow neteller to operate and if the site does not take firepay gettingfunds in and out is a pain in the rear. so we have the 1 contest here and thats fine.

Well I sort of figured that we would NOT have this contest. That is why I wanted to offer a post up contest. The HIGH BRASS at the RX would DEFINITELY be interested if we instilled a postup requirement.

I KNOW that we could get 50 or more gamblers EASY!!

Sorry but please refrain from soliciting post ups. The Rx. mods will handle any future contests. I will be discussing some sort of Rx. baseball capping contest with Sportsavant soon.

Thanks, wil..

Players- you told me last week you wouldn't be around all season to play, wasn't that the reason you didn't join the other baseball contest?

And you also signed up for the basketball bracket contest, have you sent that entry in yet?

Wrong...that has nothing to do with it, we're capable of running great contests...and we will continue to do so.

SportSavant is very capable of filling that official contest mod role....SS is very professional.

Well Jman, I wont be aroun all summer long. But I was assuming that I wouldnt be around long for the KING of the Hill contest, in other words that I would lose early.

Although, I did come in third place in the basketball version of the KOH this year.

Wil, if Bucs already had the thing ready to go and RX Management had 3k in prizes ready to give away, what has changed to cause the decision not to hold the contest? Because it seems to me that the only thing that has changed since that time is that Bucs has left. I'm sure SS is perfectly capable of running the contest(I'm sure you feel the same way), so I'm very interested to hear why it has been decided to not hold the contest when just two months ago it was a go.

Fyi...

Actually nothing was ready to go as far as any Baseball King of the Hill contest here at The Rx.. Whatever plans Bucsfan had made left with him. We won't be having a baseball King of the Hill contest at The Rx. this year. Stay tuned for an exciting baseball handicapping contest in May here at The Rx.

Thanks, wilheim
