would rather put more stock in a pitcher's numbers with over 1,000 career innnings than only looking at 1 or 2 outings this year and baseing my numbers on them. Not as sold a player or a team based on 10 games (1/16 of a season) when you have so many solid numbers to use from his past.Journeyman said:

40 games is WAAAAAAAAAAY too long to wait...
i usually wait until each team has about 2 series under their belts (usually 6-8 games) for BOTH home and away...
once a team has 6-8 home and/or away games played, you can start assessing their statistical matchups...
for pitchers, i usually wait until they have at least 2-3 starts before i start giving too much too weight to their stats.
but these are all general guidelines, of course. nothing is ever set in stone.
