Party Poker fights back!

In a shocking move, PartyGaming PLC, the world's leading online gaming company, announces their expansion into the sports gambling market. Apparently they have decided to take matters into their own hands against WSEX and their new "NO RAKE" poker room. Their new "NO VIG" sportsbook launches on May 1st. Hoping to entice sports bettors to try out their existing poker room, they are willing to operate their sportsbook as a "loss leader," to the benefit of players everywhere.

It's a joke, of course, but wouldn't it be nice???

For a variety of reasons, which would greatly annoy me if I had to re-live them by listing them so I won't, I don't trust party poker. I therefore expect I won't trust their sports book. They're greedy bastards, but karma's a good thing. Pigs get fed, hogs get slaughtered.

I've always fully believed that a book could make money without the juice. Having been in the business many years, I've shown year in and year out that the juice is just gravy when booking sports bets, especially football.

Just look at how Pinny shades the line at times, and when players think they'll take advantage of that, Pinny usually comes in the winning side. There's a reason for that!

They will get into sports and more casino games surely, but doing it no-vig is never going to happen. They have public shareholders to be held accountable to and good luck explaining such a strategy to them. "We're doing it to get back at our poker competition!" Yeah that will go over really good with stockholders.
