bad beat?? lol... How is it a bad beat in the making? Because there pen could not hold a 2 run lead??

as a matter of fact since Detroit was up 1-0 in the first and gave up 3 in the bottom half I think they suffered the bad beat... bad beat if Detroit doesn't WIN here...

You call blowing a 1-0 lead before the home team even got to bat yet a bad beat for Detroit. Oakland has lead the game for 8 innings and blows a 2 run lead in the bottom of the ninth...wtf are you talking about??

Nevermind, you are clearly here to start shit, do it somewhere else please!!

how is a 2 run 9th inning lead not a bad beat? they have one of the best closers in baseball on the bench wasting away, that is the definition of a bad beat if you ask me.

If Street was pitching it would be a bad beat

in baseball blowing a two run lead is common... far from a bad beat... and chop is correct!

detroit losing a 1-0 first inning lead is not far removed from Detroit taking this 4-3 9th inning lead... If you don't know any better then this you should not be placing wagers on baseball...

With all due respect it dosen't matter if my sister was pitching, blowing a 2 run lead in the 9th inning is a bad beat, hands down!!

Frankly, I think it is a worse beat with Street on the bench, at least with him in you have some level of comfort that they beat the guy who should have been in there.

Well if the Braves have 2 run lead in the 9th and Cris Reitsma is the closer and Ilose I dont consider that a bad beat. As a matter of fact if the Braves hold on I would almost call that a good beat, lol.

When Don Kolb was the Braves closer any blown save went into the expected catagory and not a bad beat.

If Rivera or Street or Hoffman or Gagne when healthy blows a 2 run lead in the 9th, bad beat.

When Reitsma, Kolb or Duchscherer blows a 2 run lead its not a bad beat.

It depends on whos pitching IMO.

If Rodney blows this save today, not a bad beat.

I would probably lump them all into a bad beat category, especially if the lead is more than 1 run. Reitsma, et. al., may suck, but they still close the door 85% of the time. Duchsherer may be expected (or probable) as well, but I still go back to the fact Street is there, why the F isn't he in the game. This is like betting Texas and then finding out Vince Young isn't playing. This should have been good morning, good afternoon and good night.

3-1 OAK top of 9, would that qualify as a badbeat for under 8.5 bettors when Rodney blows this??
