Any Phil Hendrie radio fans here? Question is : how long did it take you to "get it" ? Were you or anyone you know shocked until you figured the game out..like I was. The 2nd show I heard he happened to explain the gig that nite and I had quite:puppy: a laugh.

Thanks 4 the welcome Dante. Been lurking 4 awhile. Anyways, I like the Jim Bozelle character as he is always suing someone 4 making fun of him farting or something crazy. The lady who runs the " gated community cracks me up too. Western Estates

I loved listening to Phil when I was living in San Diego. He has quite a wide range of characters and really pushes things to the edge sometimes on his controversial topics.

It took me about 3 shows to catch on what he was doing. The first show I listened to was when he had a guy that raised dogs for fighting. His shows are hilarious.

Before he moved out to California and turned big time, Hendrie was in South Florida and he was awesome. South Florida should have never let him get away.
He was in South Florida at the time when the Bills were always going to the Super Bowl and the Bills-Fins rivalry was great. He would impersonate being a Buffalo Bills fan and act all arrogant. He would impersonate Bryan Cox and act like an idiot which got Brian Cox all pissed off. He was great and we definitely miss him in South Florida.

The first and only time I've heard him late one night I realized it was a bit and the callers they let on did not know it was a bit.....

The 'character' was promoting something to do with high school kids and then taking the girls out for a 'coke' after the presentation. He was some sort of officer and they went to high schools to promote some sort of safety or such and then would invite the high school girls to go with them in their convertibles to 'learn more' and to have time to explain their lecture better...LOL! I can't remember the ins and outs of the bit, but I was laughing.... It wasn't that long ago. tulsa

Love his show.(Hence the user name, lol). I have an hour commute to work, and discovered him about 5 years ago. He had me at first, but as the show went on, I noticed the "guest" sounded a bit like him, and the "guest" started getting more outrageous as the interview went on. Laughed my ass off. Very original. I was curious to how he exactly performed, but saw him on USA network or something one night, and it showed him in the studio, switching mics, and such. Too funny.

Ted Bell is obviously my favorite, but the Dooley's kill me, as well as Chris Norton.

An awesome show. Phil has more talent than anyone in broadcasting.

When I first listened, I could tell something was not right. After about a week, I heard the explanation.

I believe it was Mrs. Dooley where she would make some outrageous claim or belief and people would call in to the Phil Hendrie show outraged and trying to make their point--mostly a religious point and Mrs. Dooley would keep going UHhhhum, uhhhum, uhhhum right in the middle of what the caller was saying and she kept doing it constantly. I found that hilarious because it was disrupting the callers train of thought and and basically totally disrespecting them. Some people caught on and said I wish you wouldnt do that and others just did not know what to do yet she kept doing it. Very funny.
