1961 NEW YORK YANKEES

Many consider the 1961 New York Yankees as the GREATEST team of all-time.

Question for the True Yankee Fan... How many players of the starting line-up with positions can you name on this team. Regardless if 1961 was before your time, a true yankee fan should know a few players on this team if it was considered the greatest ever. Also can you name some key reserves on this team? Do not use any research info. Make your list but do not post the name of the players, JUST POST THE NUMBER OF PLAYERS THAT YOU KNOW WITHOUT USING ANY RESEARCH INFO. ... I WILL POST THE ANSWER LATER. I know the starting line-up and have known this for years.

HOW MANY CAN YOU NAME? A TRUE YANKEE FAN SHOULD KNOW AT LEAST 6 PLAYERS ON THIS TEAM!

I'll tell you what? WHAT GOD$#%*!D Yankees team had more men on base in the game and scored fewer runs than the 2006 Yankees on April 26th, I think, if I remember right....let me see...Yes, and I think it was the Devil Rays they were playing: one of the worst teams in baseball.

Yes, that's it as I recall. The 2006 Yankees on April 26th of that year were playing the Tampon Bay Devil Rays and had men on base with no outs for at least seven of the nine innings. Did they win the game?

Well, did they?

They better have!!!!!!!!!

Back to the original trivia...sorry to intrude....really. I am. tulsa

I remember that!

Tulsa No they didn't win that game! I remember it like it was yesterday. I will never forget that game Because the moneyline with my guy was 280.00 to win a 100.00 and I bet 500.00 on that game.. The score was 4-2 Devil RAYS won..I mean the worst team in baseball won that game with in my opinon the worst pitcher on the mound MClung..That game went to the tenth inning and it was just dragging on to make me lose an extra 3 years of my life. I now will fade the Yankees for awhile until they get there shit together..

Talk to you later Tulsa..

As a lifetime Yankee hater, I take great delight in the fact that most of the 1961 Yankees were beaten by MY TEAM in the 1960 World Series - Hoak, Groat, Maz, Stuart, Burgess, Skins, Virdon, Roberto, Law & Friend & Vinegar Bend. Smith, Rocky, Christopher, Schofield, and the Baron of the Bullpen.

I'm not a Yankee fan by any means but I can name the starting lineup abeit not the batting order, and also some of the reserves. I also consider this the greatest team of all time. Great defense.
