13 Year old golfer of a cancer stricken mom birdies her first hole in LPGA event ..

Dont know if many of you saw the story on ESPN , but Dakoda Dowd birdied her first hole and stands at +1 after 8 in her first pro event.

Her mom has maybe a few months to live and they are having one hell of a time together.

Hope she plays well and maybe even makes the cut.

she is + 1 after 10 .

havent been over yet . might go tomorrow .

feel like i want to experience it for some reason...

I saw it on TV yesterday and the sports announcer said she'd either do OK or terrible, but she would NOT do well (because of her age).

I hope she kicks ASS, would be quite a feat.

+2 after 11, truely an amazing story I think everybody is routing her on. Very sad story hopefully this girl is forgetting all the other stuff for the 4 hours a day shes out on the course.

He was just giving a tehcnical opinion of how he thought she would likely perform. What's the big deal. It's not like he said he HOPED she would fall on her face.

If she does well I am happy for her, but the LPGA will be embarrassed if she does well against "Adult Pros".

here is the bottom line :

the developer of the resort heard about her familys situation .

he gave the kid a sponsors exemption

the kid is a great golfer for a teenager .

for anybody to say " dont think she'll do well " or " she might do ok " is a joke.

lets let this family enjoy themselves and let this mom have her remaining days filled with the experience of her life...

god bless them all and i hope they all have the greatest week of their lives.

would love to see her birdie 18 and shoot even for her first professional round ever.

pretty amazing for a 13 year old kid with everything going on around her.
