Liking these three canines today ...

MILWAUKEE +125
Pitching Option: Listed
MILWAUKEE (D BUSH) vs CHICAGO CUBS (G MADDUX)

I think with Mr. Lee out of the equation on offense and the Brewers getting to play an easier team than the Mets, we have a nice setup here for Mr. Bush. I also believe it is time to start fading Maddux as this little streak will go to his head for sure.

Bush is coming off his second career shutout after beating Cincinnati, 11-0, on Sunday. He struck out nine and walked only two in pitching the four-hit shutout. It will be his fifth start since joining the Brewers in the offseason trade that sent Lyle Overbay to the Blue Jays.

NY YANKEES +102
Pitching Option: Listed
TORONTO (R HALLADAY) vs NY YANKEES (J WRIGHT)

I won't usually go against Roy but I think the lad is in for a rocky start this season. Hasn't seem to have found his groove yet and that will spell trouble versus the Yankee Bats which I am counting on. Their pitcher scares me slightly (Wright) but I am banking on the home team batting edge. I also think Halladay is too rested as there is such a thing IMO.

After skipping one start and resting a stiff right forearm for 12 days, Halladay returned to the rotation and turned in a good performance against the Red Sox. The right-hander wasn't overpowering, but he used his entire arensal of pitches to hold Boston to one run across five innings. Halladay, who is 8-4 with a 3.21 ERA in his career against the Yankees, will be coming off five days of rest.

CINCINNATI +140
Pitching Option: Listed
HOUSTON (R OSWALT) vs CINCINNATI (B CLAUSSEN)

Another play where I am looking for the bubble to burst.

Oswalt was brilliant over seven innings against the Pirates on April 23, allowing one run on six hits in a 7-2 Houston win. Oswalt is 15-0 with a 2.41 ERA lifetime against the Reds. Last year, he was 4-0 with a 2.03 ERA. His career mark against the Reds is a Major League record for the most wins vs. one opponent without a loss.

Claussen can take care of this with some offensive help and I expect a very close game here with the slight edge going to Cincy obviously. Houston hasn't exactly been winning easily these days.

Claussen has a respectable 2.65 ERA against Houston while going 0-3 in three games.
