I went shopping today, and I like the quailty of picture on the LCD rather than the Plasma. But when I got hom the picture looked better in the store. Do these TV's take time to warm up? or are there ways to make the picture appear more clear?

I have a LCD...didn't fuck with any of the settings, but the picture looks great...HD is ridiculous.

You need to get HD cables from either a store, or your cable provider should give you some for free. I know Comcast gave me free cables. But you need them if you want to watch HD.

Did you get it figured out? If not, you need to call your cable or satillite :icon_conf provider and tell them you bought an HD TV. Your Hi Def channels will be different channels than the ones you have now.

Oh, and your monthly bill will be higher too.

You have to have a DIGITAL BOX from the cable company, PREFERABLY A HDTV Digital BOX.....

If you Plug the cable directly into one of those units it will look like SHIAT

Depending on the TV you can just hook up an antenna and get HD reception. Go to a good store and they can tell you the merits of each one, but a $20 antenna can get you a good picture depending on your location. Easiest thing to do though is to get cable or satellite HD.

One word of note with an OTA HD receiver. Most of them necessitate that you be within a reasonable distance from the channels tower. Outdoor antenna you're looking at 50 miles max and indoors you might be lucky to get a 20 mile range assuming a clear view of the tower.

big bet,

I've got a panasonic 56 inch flat screen LCD TV at my work...got it donated by some of my clients...it's frickin' sweet, I highly recommend it...we have trouble in high elevations with plasmas here in Reno, so I went the LCD route and I'm pleased...
