No you don't download software. You go to MLB.com and click on a little tv by the game you want and that lets you view the game. Yes you can use multiple computers and you and your friend can both enjoy one account. You can also use a Mozilla browser and an IE browser and view 2 games on one computer. I find it's well worth the 80 bucks a year.
