no question to me I am more scared of a terrorist situation than of "engine" problems.

Mechanical problems. These days I'd say there's a greater chance of that being an issue.

yeah, agreed. i really can't see anyone trying to hijack a plane again in the U.S. as paranoid as most americans are now about terrorism, if anyone actually jacked a plane you'd have half the passengers jumping up and attacking the hijackers. you'd have to use a small army to hijack a plane and keep control of it nowadays.

so i'd be more worried about some type of mechanical problems.

I always buy my ticket with a charge card that includes a lot of life insurance while flying on a scheduled carrier. I hope its a bet that never collects.

How about some kind of bomb in checked baggage ? How secure is that area ? A surface to air missile is another possibility. Actual hijacking like 9/11 I can't see, but there must be other ways.

Scared?

If you die then you die. Why be scared of something you can't control?

Do you worry about dying in a car accident, being murdered or being struct by lighting?

What does it matter anyway, if you die you're not around to care about it.
