Ok here's the deal guys, and let me get your opinion on it. I know that I am new to this message board but I felt that there was no better place to get my word out about the situation I have encountered with Pacific Poker.

Here's what happened:

A buddy of mine and I were playing 5 man $10 Sit-N-Go Tournaments. Now, yes we were consistently on the same tables, however, we were NOT in collusion and cheating on these tables. This could be demonstrated by the amount of tournaments that both he and I lost and the amount of bets we had placed against each other when all other players had folded. We weren't even using the Chat Function on these tables. Well, evidently someone had complained about this so-called collusion that was happening, and when I attempted to log-in yesterday to play, error messages came up and I contacted them, and they permanently banned me and seized my money in my account. I've been playing at Pacific Poker for over two years and am not a big player. The most I've ever had in my account is around $100-$200.

I called my friend up whom I was playing with and his account hasn't even been frozen. I treated my friend as if he was any other ordinary player. I was playing against him. I think Pacific Poker has a lot of audacity to seize my money.....my $107.19, and take it from me.

Has this ever happened to anyone on this board? This is really bothering me, considering I'm not a big-time player and have been playing there for over two years. Any help would be appreciated.

crap move by that site. there is cheating at over 10% of full tables. why even allow chat other than to cheat with key words, work tricks you can hide hidd hide it fast.

people even cheat by how long they take to call a bet as a signal to their partner as to what they have. its unreal.

Sorry to hear and totally believe you were not in collusion.

My question is this though.........why would you subject yourself to playing numerous five-seated SIT-N-GOs with your friend?

This is a sure way to raise a red flag on your account.

How many Sit-N-Gos did you play with your friend at the same table? Guessing quite a few since you stated you "consistantly" played together with him in these tourneys.

Yeah, we did play quite a few together. It was merely more of a competition between himself and I. The funny thing is that his account hasn't even been blocked. I'm just really ticked off that they seized the funds in my account. At the very least, give me my initial deposit back. Do you honestly think that they are going to "reimburse" these players that had allegedly claimed that they were allegedly cheated?

TryTry,

I'm interested in where you arrived at the 10% figure? I'm not questioning your facts, I just play alot of poker and have never heard a % figure thrown out.

Thanks, Hal

Or they could just simply type "A6 of hearts" into their instant messenger of choice.

I use it extensively and it really helps my game. My specialty is getting a player to go on tilt. Some good smack talk will surely draw some foolish calls when you need them

This is why I simply utilize the "ignore chat" function. Not interested in arguing

The poker rooms have to protect against even the appearance of collusion. Whether or not you were doesnt matter. It appeared that you were and others complaining about it made it appear even more likely. I believe you when you say you werent but how is the poker room to know for sure. I think they are justified in banning you from the site. However, if the money in your acct was from mostly your deposits and very little from winnings then they should refund your money. If it was all winnings I can see them feeling justified in taking it from you. If you have been playing there for over 2 years you should have known doing that would eventually cause a problem. Good luck to you and I hope you get your money back.

ronaldn,

You say, "The Poker rooms have to protect against even the appearance of collusion"

Let's say you go into pacific poker and win over $5,000 and then pacific poker "freezes" your account and tells you that you were in collusion with another player and you really weren't.

Wow, if this is how Pacific Poker treats their players, I guarantee I will never deposit there again!!

The money that they took from this kid isn't even theirs, it is the other players even if he wasn't in collusion.

WOW - BAD MOVE BY PACIFIC!!

What you say is correct under normal circumstances but by his own admission he and his friend had played together many, many times before. Obviously enough times to draw attention from other players. I'm sure PP researched this thoroughly before making that decision. No site wants to ban players from their site, it's just not good business. I'm sure they felt they had to. And as I stated before, I hope he gets his money back. And would you feel comfortable playing at a site that isnt looking out for everyone by preventing cheating?

It is often more fun to play with a friend. My ex-girlfriend and I used to play at PokerStars and other sites all the time in the same tourney. We just did it for fun, we also played a lot of headsup tourneys as well for the fun of it.

I agree with you in the fact that you would want the poker room looking out for collusion.

But it seems to me based on his story that there was never any evidence presented against him my pacific poker. This in turn makes me believe that Pacific Poker could "If they wanted" arbitrarily accuse "anyone" of collusion and seize there funds without the facts.

There is no clause in pacific poker's agreement that states that you can't play at the same table as your friend.

Well, just had another interaction with them, and they outwardly denied any of money back. They said I was involved in "chip transfers." This is just total crap, and BS. My friend that I was so-called in "collusion" with isn't even banned. I wish they would simply just give me my original deposit back. Then I wouldn't be as ticked off about it.

I saw alot of cheating at a couple of tables the other day when I went back to play at Doyles room, or Bos Poker(1 and same). The classic cheat where the raiser keeps raising with me in the middle after the flop, then get's out the way once the person on my left moves all in. Funny thing is, I never had anything to call him with. Changed tables twice, and kept happening. Bottom line, Doyle's room is suspect, dont play there.!!
