Record 3-3, Units exactly $0
First Day 1-2 -.92
Second Day 2-1 +.92
Today I'm taking a shot with 3 teams that will be very unpopular. First off:
Braves -104 (2 Units)
The line on this game seems to be strongly influenced by the fact that Philadelphia has won 4 in a row. I will take a desperate Braves team, with Thompson on the mound, sporting a miniscule ERA of 1.32. Both teams are nearly identical in scoring runs. Lidle is journeyman pitcher and I expect the Braves to score 4-5 runs against him and hold on for a win.
San Diego +130
Two teams heading in opposite directions. San Diego is actually getting hitting now and as a result putting together some wins. This is a rematch between Tomko and Hensley from last Saturday in which LA won 4-2. I like Hensley to avenge that loss with the hotter hitting team on his side. Hensley coverted from the bullpen several starts ago and his arm is now fully stretched out like a starters arm should be.
Chicag Cubs +108
This is a line that is begging you to take the D-Backs laying a small amount of juice. When Hill had his few starts in the majors from last year his ERA was over 9.00. In adition to that Arizona is playing good ball right now. So why the Cubs you ask?
This year in the minors Hill is 1-0 with a 1.44 ERA. Also he has 33 strikouts in 25 innings. Quite impressive. I like lefthanders against the D-Backs to help neutralize leadoff man Counsell, as well as power hitters Gonzalez and Tracy. The pitcher for the D-Backs is Cruz who is making his second start from the pen and Arizona is again hoping for 5 innings out of him. With Cruz he is usually very good or very bad, depending on his command on that given day.
It's true the Cubs aren't hitting much, but I look for the Cubs to scratch out a few runs and get a win. If Cruz doesn't have his command it could be an easy one.
Gl to everyone on their plays. I would love some baseball discussion on the board. If you disagree with my plays I would love to start some baseball debates,
I have been betting baseball for many years and I pay close attention to the correlation between money lines and run lines that the oddsmakers make. I'll discuss more about that in the coming days.
