I'd like to think as sports gamblers that we all started as avid sports FANS before we got into gambling. That being said, didn't you always get "gut shots" just WATCHING games... I remember two years ago the Red Sox played the Angels in game 3 of the divisional series and Papi was up in the bottom of whatever the last inning was (I think it was an extra inning game)... Angels made a pitching change, and while they were doing it, there was no doubt in my mind (or the minds of the two other guys watching the game with me)... Big Papi was winning the game on one swing. Sure enough, Papi put one over the Monster. Somebody told me I could have had 11-1 on that happening and I almost fell over.
We've all surely gotten these feelings on individual games though, haven't we? A certain pitcher struggling, a certain player busting out, or just a team slump. How often do you think we're right? Often enough to make it worthwhile to bet on?
Numbers and such are all great things, but there's got to be SOME sort of "fan" intuition going into plays, right?
Regardless, I'm betting my first pure baseball gut shot today... Maybe I'll keep it up for some small time cash... some extra drinks at the bar:drink:
It's part of my little 21 plays on my 21st birthday, which means it's probably doomed... but all of a sudden, the thought just hit me that Randy Johnson was going to struggle tonight... So I bet on the D-Rays...
Just interested in everyone else's thoughts on this subject...
