Let's see what we can do. Start off with a quick evaluation of each horse, trying to figure out who we can toss. Please feel free to jump in.

1. Jazil- Comes from the clouds. Speed figures not great, but the are improving. Excellent breeding. So-so connections. 1 hole won't hurt, because he will drop to the back off the start. Huge late move in the Wood. Quick fractions helped there. If there is as much speed as people think in this race, may have a shot at being in the money.

Pretty tough to throw out Any of em. As we ALL know Any of these could win under the right trip. Watching to see who, throws out who though.

2.Steppenwolfer- Another who likes to come from near the back. Just doesn't look fast enough. Been beaten 3 times by Lawyer Ron. So-so work at CD. I will look elsewhere.

3.Keyed Entry- Talented horse. Has run some impressive speed figs. Lightly raced at 2.Has never finished out of money. Pletcher and Pat V, both pluses. Couldn't carry his speed in the Wood.Coming out of the 2 hole, will have to go out near the lead. Speed figs going in wrong direction. Not sure he will get the 1 1/4. But still must be considered.

I don't think you can do much until you know how wet it will be. The forecast is looking a lot better than it was a couple days ago.

Cool.
4. Sinister Minister- Just can't but the 116 speed fig from the Blue Grass. Another Belamy Road? Ran quick fractions there and still blew the field away. Even if that fig was legit, got to think he bounces. With keyed entry inside, will have to get out. You would expect him to be on the lead, although does his best running in the middle of the race. Don't think he will make an easy lead in this field. Got started racing a little late. Still must consider.

TT, maybe right, but if I wait till day of the race to start charting, I may as well pick a number out of a hat.

5. Point Determined- Nice horse who seems to be on the improve. Baffert is always a factor.Has tactical speed and finishes well. Ran nice race in SA. With quicker fractions and a better post, could turn tables on Brother D. Don't see any works at CD. Consider.

6. Showing Up- No races as 2 yr old. This will be it's 4th race. No races at 1 1/4. Talented horse, but too green for the Derby. May make some noise later, but for now, I have to pass.

Good point-I guess it is time to get started now that the rain factor seems to be out of the picture.

TT, if it does rain, you can go back and take a second look. Will be easier with the work already done.
Btw if anyone wants to copy any of this to another site, be my guest.
