WSEX has agreed to PAY FULL AMOUNT to SMOKEY

I am going on a planned vacation this morning. I do not think it is
fair for me to leave this problem with my colleagues at WSEX. I will leave orders to pay SMOKEYWINS the balance he thinks he is owed on his trifecta.

For the record, for 10 years our rules clearly state we have certain maximum payout limits on exotic wagers. Our wording payouts are BASED
on actual track payouts was only there because some people thought
they should be paid the morming line odds. It was certainly never put there to mislead anyone.

Steve--I know this has been a trying time for all involved in this case and thanks for handling this with class and dignity, something I have personally come to expect from WSEX after dealing with WSEX and yourself directly over the past 8+ years as a player first and foremost, and a moderator here at the RX for the past 2+ years.

If anybody on this forum believes in anyway that WSEX was trying to "mislead" anyone into thinking they were to receive FULL TRACK ODDS they would be severely wrong.

This was simply a case of minor bad wording on WSEX part in what the word BASED represented to everyone.

For the record, and this is just ONE GUYS OPINION, I believe that Smokey was entitled to the full payout. If anybody here wants to know why I feel this way, they can read any of the many threads on this situation here at THERX.

Glad we can put a rest to this saga now.

on balance its probably the best resolution to this case

its not a normal horse race.... with bad wording

the player has some responsibility but should he be punished 10 k for it?

I guess it is true that the squeaky wheel gets the oil. Here we have a case of someone who was either too lazy or too ignorant to read the rules before placing a wager. Then he is unwilling to accept the consequence of his actions and throws a fit like a child. Obviously it has worked. I don't know whether WSEX is to be commended for their actions or not. I do know that this sets a very interesting precedent and only time will tell how this may impact them in the future.

The good news for we forum members is that it is reassuring to know that if we ever have a "legitimate" problem with a sportsbook that we have a place to state our case and know that we can get their attention. In that regard perhaps we are all winners in this situation.

If the books are not going to pay track odds do not put up the wager to be bet on.Would you like to get 600 when if you were at the track you would get 10000.Seems a smart book would lay this off pay a sucker the small amount and pocket the rest.They all like to collect but man when you hit a long shot it kills them to know that they had no shot at you but you had a big shot at them.I realize its a business but fair is fair.

Regardless of who is right and who is wrong, I believe WSEX felt they were in the right here and were not trying to get out of paying money for a mistake. I think they ought to be applauded for settling up this way.

I wish more businesses would take care of their customers this way.
