Through 2 weeks and a day, the yearly figure is 31-37-3 and I'm down 954. Like I said yesterday, the parlay players (especially the correlated ones) are making a killing these days in baseball. My time for those soon...
No long writeups because I'm busy with other things at the office. I will say the numbers I came up with for tomorrow are a LOT closer to what Spiro or his Greek linesman had today, so I will definitely have fewer bets tomorrow.
Anyway...
EDDINGS in Philly tonight. Nice breeze blowing in from center and Pedro going. All the formulas there for an UNDER... I also made the Mets 70 cents, astonished they are betting Myers like he can compete. His splits vs. NY aren't that great and Pedro should be 6-0. He rolls again tonight in a 5-1 win. For one of the few times you'll see me bet on Pedro... A big bet...
The plays: METS -133 - 1330 to win 1000
Mets UNDER 7.5 even - 500 to win 500
Waiting on the UMP in Pittsburgh. Lean to U there. SHIT. MArquez and his 58.95 just came across. Thoe 2 guys are bad enough at times that I'm going to bet OVER cause this guy is a full-fledged club member.
THe play: ARI/PIT OVER 9 EVEN - 250 to win 250
Going with Florida OVER. McClelland's strike percentage is the low end of normal (60.81) and these guys are not that good. Thomson will turn out to be a turd within a month and I've bet Moehler OVER seemingly every start, with grand success. Made it tons higher.
The play: ATL/FLA OVER 9 -111 - 444 to win 400
Absolutely floored with the price in the St. Louis game. That and the Mets are the two games that have been further off from what the line should be of any baseball game all year. Yes Fogg sucks and he's 1-8 vs. STL. But he's been better this year ... Colorado is a different team this year, I've seen them 8 or 9 times, their young guys are growing up. Helton was out for 2 weeks and they won a ton of games without him ... last night he batted 3rd and was the only starter NOT to get a hit. I made it two dollars and even at that price I thought it was a tad high. Carpenter is an ace, but the teams have the same records and the ROckies have played a tougher schedule and more road games.
The play: Colorado plus 245 - 200 to win 490
shits n giggs parlay - COL and OVER plus 243 and O 8 -120 - 250 to win 1,322.08
Nothing else in the NL - maybe an UMP play later.
All the ingredients come together for a big-time UNDER bet in the Bronx. Johnson always steps up when he faces the Red Sox (5-0 in 6 starts last year, 13-6 in 25 outings overall)... and Beckett simply mowed the Yankees down the last time he saw them - earning MVP honors after his Game 6 gem in the 2004 World Series. I think the price on this game is ridiculous considering Beckett's success against NY in the past (despite his recent struggles) but they bet it yesterday before the market opened and I lost my value. Just the total here.

Hirschbeck going in Toronto. The KING of UNDERS. I tihnk MLB is doing an experiment because TOwers is by far the worst pitcher going. Maybe he can turn it around but I wouldn't have U for anything even with Johnny back there. Was going OVER, he was one of about three umps who woulda stopped me. What a freakin' waste of Hirschbeck and his 7-1 U/O record.
White Sox total looks too high but they already bet it and since I missed the number, have to pass.
Minnesota is getting no respect at all. Yes, they're struggling but Silva's got his sinker sinking again. He had his first quality start of the year last time out. The work on his mechanics seems to have done the trick and I'm backing them at this absurd price.
The play: Twinkees plus 171 - 300 to win 513
Nothing in the late games. All in all a GREAT day to bet the bases, might be the best we have all month...Enjoy, I feel a big day coming...
