Is starting a NEW thread every time a guy jacks one out appropriate use of the main offshore forum? Would a better idea be to start one thread on the topic and keep it rolling, similar to the American Idol thread is? That way everyone isn't bogged down and other issues that folks are interested in don't get knocked down to the 2nd page because of all the multiple threads going on about one topic? Just one man's opinion, maybe I am wrong. I tried to suggest this to the thread starter and he responded in a very assholish manner. So I thought I would get your valued opinions. Thanks.

Let see, they have people in Louisiana living in tents since hurricane katrina. The price of gas is $3.00 per gallon. We have a war in the middle east. Daily threads asking people what shampoo do you prefer, and you are worried about this?

Certainly not worried about it, but it does make me mad when I politely offer a good suggestion to a guy and he turns into an immature asshole, instead of just saying no, I am going to keep starting a new thread every time he hits one as I think it is appropriate. After all, everyone has their favorite teams and favorite players, but this forum would suck bad if there was a post everytime anyone did anything that was someones favorite. There are genuine times this is appropriate, like Clip Joint boosting up his boys after a rare and unique playoff appearance, but starting one every time Brand had a double double would have been ridiculous.

Royalfan has a point, every time someone gets a bunt single, hits a homer, strikes out the side, hits a 3 pointer from way downtown or misses 2 freethrows we have to devote an entire thread to said accomplishment.

I have no agenda with you Viking or anyone else. I thought we both let bygones be bygones. Aparently you haven't for some reason.

Not really in the spirit of the forum but I am trying to lighten up with any kind of moderating or moving threads to Rubber Room.

Natrually doing this will not make everyone happy.

Nothing is easy.

And if he gets close to the record and it is late in the year, then threads would be much more appropriate IMO. As it would be very interesting. By the way, I love Pujols.

Again, I wasn't trying to TELL you what to post, I was just hoping for a compromise and start one thread on the topic, that is all.

I will compromise for you. Everytime Brent Mayne hits a homer I will start a Brent Mayne is amazing thread.

Here or there? There are 4 or 5 threads going on just on page one alone. Just overkill, but if that is the consensus, fine by me.

Royalfan, look at Budworths thread about Albert Pujols. That is the best example of what youre referring to.

Yep, it is stupid, although I think he may have been posting it as a joke as he agrees with us, not sure though. Either way, why not start one big running Pujols thread and see how many posts it can generate by the end of the year instead of another one every time. It is nonsense.

:missingte :missingte yes I have noticed that at times.....

but I think the people that post those threads have HUGE money on that game and are either pissed or happy

I think it helps them VENT when they do that

The Rx might want to start an "Under 13" forum, where the kiddies could go and have a circle jerk while talking about their favourite heroes ... maybe give out a free Pujols autographed baseball card and candy apple for every 50 posts.

It would be a start if it at least could get posted in the Baseball forum instead of this one. No reason it needed to be in this one.

Granted, I have posted things in this forum about specific sports - like asking about Mel Kiper's draft picks. But that's because I figured people don't read the football forums a lot in the off season.
