I know there are some highrollers here, who are in the us, wagering with online bookies, making alot of money.

So, do any of you fear any of the gambling laws? Or do you totally feel safe, considering that all of the online bookies are offshore?

Anywhere I can find, recent, legitimate information on this issue? As my lady friend is doing a report on this for a college speech.

Thanks!

Was having it great until I got blacklisted by Western Union. Only a question of time before we are all behind bars.

To answer your question, I dont believe the Doyle Brunsons, Ken Weitzners, Dantes, Chris Moneymakers, Greg Raymers, and Kyhawks of the world are to concerned of being convicted for doing something that .......

Has never been officially deemed ILLEGAL in the United States.

The law is very vague on this subject and the precise reason why laws are trying to be passed in the House and Senate as we speak.

So, where can I find legitimate information on this?

I know of TONS of professional gamblers, who live in the US, who make a living from gambling from offshore bookie accounts. I've been arguing with my lady friend about the legality of sports betting, since I've been doing it for ten years, and she keeps telling me to watch it before I get locked up. I consistently bring the offshore bookie scenario to her, but, she's stubborn. lol

Anyway, wouldn't it be more benificial for them to legalize it completely? So no more secrecy, and no more "gray area"?

Like the whole thing with marijuna?

Cashman - to legalize sports gambling completely seems to be the perfect answer for us THE GAMBLERS. and granted it would open up the other 49 states to gambling and provide a hell of a lot of jobs and taxable revenue, construction, etc.

but

the problem is it would also BRAKE UP the monopoly Nevada has (namely Vegas) and we know how much "old money" and how much political influence and votes that can be had with the current system.

and as long as it remains the way it is NONE of us are going to jail. They will screw around proposing this bill, and that law, with this idea, and that,JUST ENOUGH TO CREATE HEADLINES, get people elected, make more money increase their influence, and keep us jumping
This is the AMERICAN WAY

This has the makings of a classic funny thread

Well, all of me lives in Canada, except for those times when all of me visits another country.

BTW: The local casino people were recently trying to tell us that online gambling is illegal. I think they are both misinformed and biased.
