With everyone trashing Bonds and making accusations, how come Clemens
didn't start the season...a friend of mine said he was using and that he didn't want to get tested during the spring. Hard to believe, but not out of the question.

I wouldn't be surprised at all; very suspicious how a guy who declined during his mid to late thirties can not only regain the magic but actually pitch better than ever in his early forties.

Because he is white. Not hard to believe at all, he is a gym rat who played during the steroid era.

Just wondering, when did Clemens decline?

Is Sir Albert on roids?

or Papelbon?

Shit happens, people get hot, people stay in better condition, people make adjustments, records are made to be broken. Not everything good that happens in life is because of some wrong doing. I won't accuse somebody of using roids until credible evidence is presented.

An average is nothing more then an average. There will always be people much better then average and people far below average as well.

As for Bonds, I do believe he is a bit of a "fall guy". If MLB takes significant action against him and not scores of others at every level and postion in the game (including the hear no evil see no evil commish), there will be substantial litigation. I suspect all this political positioning eventually fades away, or too many heads may roll.

A bit of? that is the understatement of the year. He is the poster child for fall guy. Perhaps deservedly so, since he is chasing after hallowed records. Regardless, Bonds is one of 1,000's that cheat in professional sports, including 75% of the NFL. How many NFL players have you heard of testing positive for steroids and being scorned by the media? Barry Bonds has failed the same number of drug tests as most of these NFL superstars.....0. Put them up in front of a grand jury and let's see if they pronounce their innocence.

I think we're on the same page, as my "people at every level" and "litigation" refernces suggest. I just used a different style of expression.

I'm just over the Bonds bashing, as if he's the only one. The fucking sportsworld is littered with cheaters, ESPECIALLY in the NFL HOF. Here's a great article on the fallacy that was Babe Ruth, who never his a single home run off a NEGRO LEAGUE player....

The bottom line is half of the HR's bonds hit were probably off pitchers who were cheating too.
