:drink: I think I had it last night and it showed $$$

I was dealt K 4

Flop is K 4 A no raises preflop so I assumed no pocket pairs I prayed someone had an ace though with a decent kicker and they did Turn 7 and River 9

ending up being over a 240$ all in pot the guy who lost to me had A Q

that has to be near the best to flop to pairs and a A

Great when it happens that way, as long as you are not up against someone with AK in the hole. Generally, any flop that takes full advantage of both cards you've got ends up being a good one. Just a question of how you decide to play it from there.

I am no expert, but IMO that does not seem like that great of 2 pair. You are beat by many playable hands. A4, AK, or AX (if board pairs or they hit there out). Also, KX beats you if board pairs (At least to some degree if they are loose and do not put you on A).

At least, if the board pairs that are not K or 4 you must know u lost b/c most likely someone called your raise with AX.

Much better to flop top 2 P. Something like flop is A92 rainbow when u have A9 vs A10,AJ,AQ,AK . No chance for straight or flush draw on flop. Hope u can isolate vs. Ace big kicker and keep them in b/c the board is not scary. Only have to worry about them out drawing you on turn or river with them holding only the 4 Ace Face. Hope they hit smaller 2 P adn put u on ace face.

Both hands you must worry about sets.

right...I agree KU....I had second and 3rd pair flopped....since there was no raise preflop Or after I bet small on the first bet and since I was heads up I figured the guy had an A but no AK or A 4

I also did get luck the Board did not pair

k4 in that situation either going to win or lose you a large pot. You can trap with it, play slow, or play fast.

Its a real nice hand until the board pairs on river and you are pot commited.

You should not even be playing K4 unless 2 handed or big blind with no raise.

The best you can hope for is a flop of 44x. The next best is K4x and this is marginal. If you only pair the K on the flop, your kicker will cost you a lot of $$$. If an A appears on the board you are done.

Fold them and save your money for a real hand. The big pot losses will outweigh the small pot wins.

There is no way I will play this hand slow. Pedal to the medal.

When one of your pairs is very low (like the 4s in this case) you are in danger of having your hand counterfeited if the board pairs. Bottom two pair is a very vulnerable holding. Either play it as fast as you can or hang on by your fingernails and face the prospect of having to lay it down. I find hands like that to be extremely hard to play because it's hard to lay it down.
