I remember Floyd Patterson well especially his three fights in the very early 60s with Ingemar Johansson. The first fight Johansson staged a major upset by knocking out Floyd but later in the rematch Patterson fought brilliantly to become the first man in history to regain the heavyweight crown after losing it. Another rematch resulted in a knockout by Patterson of the Swede.

RIP Floyd Patterson - a real warrior.

I agree, on Robinson, but Ali elevated the sport. Add Jack Johnson, the OTHER Sugar Ray, Rocky Marciano & i'm all set.

I also saw that fight, on closed circut TV in Pittsburgh. I'm pretty sure it was the very first fight on closed circut.....Scotty
