Is there any criteria you set forth when deciding to enter these as possible overlay situations?

For example

$20,000 GUARANTEED NL TOURNEY....4 LEVELS of REBUYS.

$90 + $9 to enter.......$99 total.

Is there a cutoff of entrants you look for to decide whether to enter, even though the $20,000 will probably be achieved the majority of time anyway with the rebuys.... no matter the amount of enrants.

Thanks in advance,
-FH-

PS- Have my own theories, but would really like to hear as many as possible from the many tourney poker players here that know much more than me on this subject........again, thanks.

Lately, I hardly ever enter a tournament unless there's some type of guarantee with it or money added. The rest of the time, it never seems worth it. But I've liked tournaments more than regular live games, even if there is not a decent overlay.

Obviously the OVERLAYS are easy MATH when there are no rebuys involved and I take advantage of as many of these as possibe(sometimes playing 20-30 a day).

Really interested in tourneys that offer REBUYS and how the heavy hitters here attack them.........from an ENTERING standpoint more than anything else.

I am sure your theories are as sound as anyone. Would like to hear your thoughts Fish. Also, if willing, could you guide me in the direction of some rooms that frequently have overlays on non rebuys? Would be much appreciated. I much prefer the freeze outs.

Try Interpoker, many of the guarantees are overlay and freezeouts. Just played a 2500 guarantee that had 960 players at 20 each. You find most of them earlier during the day (EST). $100 match bonus monthly to boot.

Thanks, any larger tourneys with overlays there? I generally like the 50 and up buy ins at the minimum.

WVU makes a very good point here as I find some of the very best overlays between 6am and 11am EST more than any other times.
