With the WC coming up this summer I will share a little soccer tip. When betting the under dog + 1, always take the over seperatly in the same game (90% of the time it's 2.5). If the dog scores anytime in the 90 mins you cannot lose.

But if the dog fails to score you can go 0-2. It's just a case of two bets that are related. Bet an NBA dog +3 and ML, good chance to go 0-2 or 2-0, not that often you will go 1-1. I don't see the value to it.

What would be correlated in a parlay is +1 and un 2.5, or -1 and ov 2.5

College Football Bowls- Underdogs of +7 or MORE. Especially Double Digit Dogs. DDDogs are a 70% winner. The MENTAL state of these teams are the most important in the second tier bowls and that seems to favor the Dog

Be very AWARE of CFB teams schedules. Look for look a heads, letdowns, sandwiches, especially conference sandwiches. Look for CFB teams that play 3 or more games in a row on the Road. Play against those teams. The second half of the CFB season is when I will lay the chalk when you have teams that are shorthanded to begin with reach a point of attrition and
    they throw the towel in.

A GREAT book that I URGE you to purchase is Phil Steeles "Ten Keys To A Winning Season" 3rd edition Chapter 7 Situational Handicapping is The Nutts! It is worth its weight in gold many times over. # to order 1 800 654 3448 If you don't like it ,let me know and if you ship it to me, I will reimburse you your 9.95 Great Topic. There are MANY MORE TRUISMS! LT

SHOP SHOP SHOP and SHOP some more. Those 1/2 points will matter on only a few occassions but sometimes that is the difference between a winning or a losing season.. NEVER lay 71/2 when you can buy the 1/2 point. LT

Doug, last years DDDogs went 5-0 if you got Utah late at +10 I think Utah might have been the only DD fav to cover in 04 when when they beat Pitt by DD. Last years bowl DDDog winners are
    Arkansas State+16 vs S Miss 19-31 Winner!
Rutgers +11 vs Arizona State 40-45 Winner
Nebraska +12 vs Michigan 32-28 Straight up Winner
Utah +9,10 vs Georgia Tech 38-10 Straight Up Winner
Wisconsin +10 1/2 vs Auburn 24 10 Straight Up Winner

The majority of the time we have disappointed and disheartened teams that are DDFavs. These are teams that probably lost their last regular season game or have to go to a lower tier bowl that is far from home. A great example of a disappointed and disheartened DDFav was California in 04. They thought they were going to the Rose Bowl and Texas jumped them on the last reg season game. Calif had to go to the Holiday Bowl instead of going to their dream Rose Bowl. Tex Tech as a +13 point dog SMOKED Cal by DDs. NEVER NEVER lay DDs in a bowl game. LT

Look at Michigan last year. They lost to Ohio State in their last regular season game. Now they have to go to the Alamo game in San Antonio to play a resurgent Nebraska which won their last game. OBTW, it looked like the Alamo was a Nebraska home game. Red was everywhere. Two teams going in OPPOSITE direction. God, I LOVE College Football! LT

    Coach,
I have a great book by Scott Kellen and of 2 years ago, the past 20 years in college bowl games played BEFORE NEW YEARS DAY (PRE JAN 1st bowls) the dog getting 8 or more points has covered over 72% of these games

Best chance to succeed at a particular sport -- you have to have a true passion for the game; you've got to love the game so much, that it is a part of you.

Especially in a sport with so much emotion, like college sports, picking winners is more than just stats & numbers. If you watch the games because of your desire, you will begin to pick up valuable instincts that will lead you to the winner circle.

For example, during this past basketball season, I rarely missed a Big 10 hoop game -- at one point I hit 10 straight Big 10 b-ball games.

Granted, I'm sure many gamblers don't necessarily have this type of passion for the game they are betting on, and are nonetheless successful. BUT, having a passion for the sport will increase your edge against the book.
