Not shocking they pulled him...92 pitches in those 5 innings...no way in hell you let that young of an arm go 100+ in his first MLB start. Many coaches/organizations take the slow approach to developing their arm...like you'll see w/ the Twins & Liriano.

...now Reds get some runs!

7 K's too.

My goodness. That is just bad managing.

Not really. The bases were loaded so they pinched for him. He already had 92 pitches. I think it was smart. Pull him with a 2 run lead. Let him come out with a positive 1st MLB start. better then him going back and giving up a 3 run homer the next inning (which is easily possible in that cincy park) and having lose any confidence.

there is a huge part of baseball that's mental. i'd rather pull him a little early and keep that confidence level high...after a strong outing instead of leaving the game on a down note.

Roach, I wass so happy to see him do well...Hopefully he is the real deal. Looks like it, and his Minor starts are insane!!

I thought the Reds were going to shell him. Reds +120 against a rookie at home? Looked really good to me, I have a lot to learn.

plus, in baseball, the idea is not blowing out a team on a friday night in the middle of May, its winning the damn thing later on and building your franchise.

thus, why risk it.
