I don't think it's a great bet, I rarely do it, but did one today Phil -1.5 and over 9.5

Very few shops allow it, namely Wagerweb,CRIS,SIA, and No juice to my knowledge, I'm sure there are a few more, but the majority refuse it.

Why refuse it ?

It's not a winner if you bet it blindly. Books are afraid of it for some reason. I won't do it on a total that can push ( like 9).

Doug,
Do you follow the "guidelines" that Cutter(Fezzik's place) says for parlaying bases( I know you have said this in the past).

What exact rules do you follow when betting these and have you enjoyed success with them?

most shops refuse it because they beleive it is correlated. i also think it is correlated, and cant blame the majority of books that refuse these bets.

I like Cutter, he doesn't believe in RL parlays. To sum him up briefly he likes dog and totals of odd and a half ( 7.5,9.5 etc.) Road dog and over, home dog and under. He doesn't play them all, will use other totals, etc. He's a good guy to search over there and read stuff from the past. He has good insight on when to take +1.5 instead of ML, things like that.

I try to get the odd and a half number, sometimes 5D won't allow it. I look to play them, then thin them out, rarely using RL.

That is certainly correlated, but a few shops allow correlated parlays.

hockey is much more correlated, esp. now with playoffs +1.5 and un 5 or 5.5 is related much more than higher totals in bases. There's at least 5 books that take that ( CRIS).

I read Fezzik's place every day just for the Cutter posts.
I pretty much understand his parlays but wondering if he(I know he does) or you bet when the total is different than odd and a half. Have you won/made any money following these parlays and how do you handle it if the total is 8 or 9?

I don't track them seperately, so I can't go back and pick out just baseball parlays over the past few years. I'm sure Cutter's plays don't match mine exactly. What we have in common is that starting point of dog, then thin it out from there. I'm very unlikely to ever play home dog to under in bases, I don't like unders in bases or full NBA games. I look mostly to road dogs of +150 or more, and usually don't parlay it if I can't get the odd and half number. On rare occasion I'll lay the road -1.5 runs, and go over.

Cutter knows this stuff better than me.

What's funny is I only know of 3 books that take it in bases, but about 10 for hockey. Mxxxxxn used to book ML to total in bases with a dimeline on the total before they screwed up the book odds.

I don't think -1.5 and over wins bet blindly.

Yes there is clear correlation on these bets, my best luck is taking the +1.5 and parlaying it with the under though I lay the 1.5 with the over sometimes as well. Now let this thread sink to the bottom of the page please, there will be no books taking them soon.
