Wish I could find that thread from Sick Gambler where he posted about one of his online dating experiences. Hilarious.

It's probably THE wave of the future as an easy and accurate way to meet compatable folks. But for old timers like me that don't know anything about submitting a picture online, etc. it isn't the answer. Seeing is usually believing at most any age; and if not a good start.
But I think as the internet continues it's popularity and becomes available in just about all homes at some point in time...it will be the way 50% or more couple meet.

Internet dateing is FULL of smoke and mirrors, just like most things in Cyberspace!

Try Wal-Mart in the bra department!

I dated pretty much exclusively with match.com pick-ups for several years before tying the knot two years ago. Met my wife on-line also. Much better than the bar scene girls who always seem to have issues. Just so many to choose from and fairly easy to set something up.

I usually would write a catchy letter to start, and be sure to personalize it and not write some generic stuff, as they can pick up on that fairly easily. After two or three letters you usually graduate to the phone stage and after a call or two you meet. Very simple game, as Charlie Eckman used to say (old time Baltimorons will get that reference).

You go to a bar and you might have 10-20 possible ones you would like to meet, yet you can sit at home on your computer and choose from thousands. No comparison.

the problem with online girls is that while you are talking to her, she has many many other men coming on to her daily.....instant messages, emails etc....so she will almost always have some relationship going on with these guys
