To do this you must be able to correctly assign probability, but that's what great handicappers do.
If you determine a team has a 72% chance of winning, and vegas is offering -200 on this team, You are a long-term winner (67.7% breakeven) If you incorrectly assign wrong probability (poor handicapping) and make wagers that aren't offering proper odds, you will be a long-term loser.
