Wow, 4 unearned runs in the inning.

Wait till you guys see this on ESPN tonight.

Laroche picks up a slow grounder on the 1st baseline. Turns his back and starts WALKING towards the bag. Meanwhile, Johnson is RUNNING his ass off and before Laroche realizes it Johnson beats him to the bag on which would have been the third out of the inning. 4 runs later and the inning comes to an end. . WOW.

They gave him an error and dammit I agree.

You can't give Johnson a hit and you can't tag Thomson with earned runs.
I'm sure Bobby C chewed his ass out when he got back to the dugout, or at least he will .... did Cox get tossed?

I just saw the replay, and while I am on the nats, i think Johnson was out, but laroche is still an idiot for turning his back to the runner and walking.

Shame on Laroche for dogging it, but BIGGER SHAME on the 1st base ump who made himself bigger than the game trying to maker a point with the wrong call. It's the manager's job to punish players for being non-chalant, NOT the umpire's

It was pretty close, it almost looked like a tie to me, which of course goes to the runner, as the saying goes.

My inclination is to give the ump the benefit of the doubt on that one, if he was out it was by an eyelash!

I was sitting 4th row at the game today, the runner was definitely out, check the replays tonight but the ump was trying to make a point giving the bang-bang play to the runner because LaRoche was jogging while Johnson hustled it out.

Cost the Braves the game, would have been 1-0 instead they get 4 unearned in that inning. If Thomson had been out of that inning there he would have had about ~20 less pitches for the next inning when he gave up 2.

Fuck LaRoche for not hustling but fuck the ump more for trying to make a point by making a close but wrong call.
