i have an lcd i wudnt buy one for movies cause i like night scenes black not grey

id go dlp or plasma for movies

but if its in living room with alot of light then id go lcd

just depends on your exact lighting conditions

theres some excellent deals on projectors ae900 panasonic and or sanyo z4 if you have a real dark room

I will keep telling all who will listen!!!

Tv"s are old school...Be it LCD, dlp, plasma, they are all crap!!!! All that lcd, plasma, crap bugs out in 2 to 3 years and you are screwed..

If you are going to plop down big cash, go the whole nine yards and get
a projector..(And i am not talking about a projection tv..) i mean get that thing like they have at the movie theatre (get a DLP)...

It is light as hell, will give you a 100" picture if you please (and no, its not true that they dont work at day time..the year is 2006)

Only minus is that you have to pay about 200-300 for a new bulb every 18 months!! (that time estimate depends on how much tv you actually watch)

If you are in the market for a plasma

Most agree that Samsung, Sony, and Panasonic offer the best picture. Make sure it is HD, not ED.

Nice thing is Samsung and Sony are identical - built in the same factory. Then they slap Sony on it and double the price. Any guess which one I have?

Pioneer makes the best looking plasma (can see in any Best Buy) also the most expensive. I have had a plasma for 3 years and all pixels and brightness are fine. Next in line would be Samsung, then Sony. LCD is nice but they lose picture when looking from the side, they do have true black but they run really hot. Projection would be cool but havent seen one where I like the picture that much yet. Whatever you get make sure it has HD Tuner and HDMI input, as HD DVD players will require it in the near future.
