He's going to buyout Larry Brown so "he" could coach the team and Dolan is going for it. Incredible.

Isiah puts together a team with about 25 scorers at the guard position, no chemistry whatsoever and he thinks he could a better job then Larry Brown. This organization is screwed for a long time!!

Really???

Both all-sports stations in Chicago were talking about it with Steve Francis in the deal.

How does Isiah survive this? Is Dolan senile? Larry Brown gets what he deserves, screwing over the Pistons last year, but Zeke has shown nothing but incompetence as a GM.

All he does is rotate big contracts until he finds something that works. There's no thought in what he does.

this is truly tortute for any knick fan.
you can blame isiah for most of this, but dolan deserves a lot of blame as well.

its silly

larry brown wasnt coaching them to win this year - he was trying to teach them lessons for next year

he was hoping for strong fundamentals and develop chemistry and see the young guys have a chance.

but thats all out the window now - with the players getting the easy way out - very hard position for the new coach isiah or anyone else

larry brown has many faults but no matter what else the guy can mould a team to win games- boring games maybe but still w's

You're right. He tried to teach Marbury to be more of a pure point guard this year and he couldn't comprehend. Marbury's cop out was that everyone was confused with the system he was trying to teach. How do you blame a guy who succeeded with other clubs? Those other teams (that won.) must have got the gist of what he was teaching.

Most important rule: New York fans don't want to hear about "next year".

Larry Brown would probably be the happiest person on the face of the earth if they bought out his contract. He will get paid one huge lump sum and still coach for another team next year. Plus he gets out of an organization with the worst roster make up in the league.

Thomas made the mistake when he took the job in the first place

They had so many bad contracts it would have taken him 4 seasons to get out of the cloud anyway and he would have been fired already. He went the expensive route

Knock Isiah all you want, but didn't Larry Brown look at this roster before he signed this contract?

That's not entirely true. After Brown was brought in, they didn't take advantage of the Alan Houston rule. They went and brought in Q Richardson, Jerome James and later in the season Jalen Rose and Steve Francis. All four of those players are cancer!

I agree it was a bad mix before he got there, but to take over a team and have them not be able to figure his game plan is unforeseeable. They understood his plan in Detroit, Philly, etc.

The reason I'm getting on Isiah is, he did a shit job as GM and he's trying to save face by coaching the team now. It's like he's saying "It wasn't my fault this team doesn't win" and he's going to prove it by coaching the team the "right way".

Larry Bird knew he was crap in Indiana.

Totally agree: & first thing i wondered was why thomas wouldn't get fired also-- unless if it was dolan who first mentioned Brown's name... Nice having so much money to burn!

$$$$$$$$$$$ is what he was looking at. Buying out his contract is the best news he can get.
