Do You Hedge On The Spurs If You Have The Mavs For The Series

Down 1-3, suspect the price on the Spurs to be fairly decent. Do you hedge any part of your series play on the Mavs?

same scenario the Suns had vs the Lakers in round one, just need to win the one at Dallas (game 6) and take care of home court on the other 2. Of course the Mavericks are much better than the Lakers so easier said than done. I dont remeber what the Suns were in this spot, I think it was around +220

Absolutely not, especially when Dallas already beat SA at home and came close to winning the first game as well. I believe in hedging under the right circumstances but this isn't it. The Spurs are not going to win this series.

let it ride. You will not be getting a good price on the defending NBA champs.

The Spurs will win at home. They played very well in Dallas and could be up 3-1. The Spurs will get the close calls at home like Dallas did. If the Spurs win game 6 they win the series.

At least one current price on the Spurs: +343

That's a pretty good guarantee if you took the Mavs for the series. Can do a partial hedge and carry a balance on the Mavs to assure a profit regardless of outcome of the series.

The way I see the series, the Spurs could have just as easily won Games 3 and 4 as Duncan fouled out late in the last minute plus when the Spurs were trading leads with the Mavs in Game 3. Last night, the Spurs once again had the game at 111-109 when the refs made a questionable call on Bowen with 8 seconds left sending Nowitski to the line for two and the game goes to OT with the Spurs missing Ginobili. I expect a Mav letdown in Game 5 being up 3-1 following two close wins, but the Spurs to bring the same level of intensity as Game 4. Then it goes back to Dallas at 3-2. With the way the two games went in Dallas, certainly not beyond the realm of possibilities that the Spurs can win Game 6 sending it back to San Antonio for Game 7. Happened in Round 1 with the Lakers. Hedge paid.

Regardless of final outcome to the series, this is a classic example of a proper hedge position in my opinion.

Game 6? I don't think there is any guarantee that SA wins game 5. It's not like Dallas is playing bad on the road.

And if the Road Warrior says it, it must be true..
