Alright new slate today after having my ass handed to me the last 3 days it's time to turn over a new leaf. Here are 4 games that I really like and will tell you why:

SD -155 over Arizona: This is all about 2 pitchers going in opposite directions. Peavy is returning to true ace form allowing only 3 runs in his last 21 innings. Padres are arguably the hottest team in baseball, despite dropping last nights game they still were smoking the ball all over the diamond. Orlando Hernandez at home in Arizona sports a solid 11.44 ERA. I think SD wins this game by more than a few runs.

Houston -1.5 (+135) over SF: It's tough too look in the past sometimes but it's no fluke that Jamey Wright has NEVER beat Houston in his entire career. Wandy Rodriguez has been good this year and factor in Wright's struggles against the Astros this seems like an easy play.

Tampa Bay even over CHW: Chicago is throwing out a young kid McCarthy who will be on a strict 60 to 70 pitch count. That means CHW will be going to there long relief a spot occupied by McCarthy previously early in the game. Factor in that Scott Kazmir has been great this year and is definately living up to the hype, this seems like a good play for Tampa. White Sox's struggle against lefties too hitting only .248 compared to .300 against righties.

Mets +101 over the Cardinals: When I saw this line I couldn't believe the Mets were underdogs. Not only has Glavine been great this year but the Mets offense should crush a guy like Suppan. Suppan has been solid over his last 3 or 4 starts but he is always capable of being bombed early and often when not hitting his spots. With big leftines like Beltran and Delgado in the middle of that lineup I think they get to Suppan early and hang on for a victory.

Good luck on the day everyone. A lot of solid games out there today. I can't believe the oddsmakers kept the KC line exactly the same despite KC going with Elarton over Affledt. There is now way Cleveland should be -210 with arguably one of the worst pitchers in baseball. KC may be worth playing but I can never bet on that team after I see the lineups they trot out on the field. Maybe today will changes who knows!
