Yes, as SAD as i hate to even think about it again. Had female Rotty for 10 from a puppy, last year in April she got sick and i had to have her put to sleep. I have Lost women in my life that i didnt think that much of.

I had to put my Lab of 13 years down this past August. She lasted longer than 2 marriages and never asked my where the hell I was until midnight.

Cried like a baby for a couple of weeks. She sits high upon my fireplace mantle looking down upon me daily.

My new pup Drax is a German Drahthaar and is pictured in my avatar.

Best of luck,

Hal

Had to put my cat to sleep a couple years ago...probably the second-worst moment of my entire life.

Sorry for your loss if you're going through this now.

Thanks.

i had my miniature dacshund put to sleep the week before thanksgiving.as i type this it is still hard.her name was heidi and i had her FOR 18 YEARS and up until the last day she was fine (still played etc.).we were only apart for 5 days the entire 18 years. i came home from work on the last day and she was just laying on the floor and could not move (i think she had a stroke) but she was in no pain she simply could not get up. i have never been so devastated in my life and i know it sounds stupid to say.

i dream about her coming home several times a week and still find myself looking down at my feet to make sure she is not going to get stepped on.i did go to a professional artist and had a oil painting made of her and i have to say it is exactly the way she looked. that has helped some and was very reasonably priced and WORTH EVERY PENNY! i feel your pain and to be honest with you i am 40 years old and that was the first time i cried since i was a very young boy. i cried so hard i could not even stand up,not a very good scene. but the vet and his wife(he had been her only vet from the first time she went for all of her shots etc.) also balled like you have never seen.it was a very bad moment but it was something i knew i had to do as i couldn't bear to see her not being able to walk around etc.

hang in there, and only you can decide if you want to get another one.everybody told me to get another one, but i cannot bring myself to do it! as i know there will never be another one to take her place

Had to have 2 dogs put to sleep, and had them from pups...its sad, but it was a good alternative for them because they were old and the cocker spaniel was deaf and pretty much blind.
